I don't know if this is practical, but instead of trying to decrypt the DS2 data (which could be virtually impossible), might it be possible to flash the machine with revised firmware that omits the encryption step?
Just a thought.

Re: Can artificial light damage mask?
If you happen to have one, an ultrasonic cleaner is great for cleaning things like mask parts.Just fill with water, add a drop or two of dishwashing liquid, drop in the parts and turn it on. A quick rinse afterwards and you're done. Really vibrates the dirt out of holes and crevices. I happen to hav...

Re: Fix: Respironics System One (50 series) Humidifier Problems
Did this fix to my 50 Series BiPAP Auto several years ago. Humidifier still works fine.
But I wonder: Will having done this cause refusal to do the recall fix because the machine was "tampered" with? The repair is rather obvious when the cover is removed.
I hope not.

Taking (nonmonetary) Bets On My S8 Autoset II
Haven't been here in many years. (Hi Pugsy and Marge.) Just learned about the PR recall. I was clued in by a late-night class-action lawsuit TV ad of all things. Have 3 affected machines. (DS Bipap Auto, System One 60 Series Auto, and 50 Series BiPap Auto.) Considering firing up my original machine,...

Re: Philips System One ran with no filter
I found that putting a piece of the hook side of some sticky-backed Velcro on the "ceiling" of the filter recess keeps the filter in place. With it in place, I cannot blow filter out. If you use the Velcro, put the top edge of the foam filter in first and then slide in the bottom. You won't be able ...

Re: Mask and supplies: DME pricing vs. online pricing
About the headgear issue: DME bill the mask and the headgear separately, even if they buy
them as one unit. So the mask charge plus the headgear charge should be compared to
cpap.com's single price for the whole shebang.

Re: How many doctors did you try until you found a good one?
Reply, You're using the word Doctor, willy nilly, without stating its designation. For example, are you referring to a Physician who holds MD designations in Neurology and Sleep Medicine, or holds MDs in each Internal, plus Pulmonology plus Sleep medicine, OR just a Family Practitioner? Please clar...

Re: ResMed S8 vs S9 auto CPAP
There's no blanket answer; It all depends on your particular data. The pressure calculated by an S9 may differ from that of an S8, and the difference is due to the number and types of events that the user experiences. As one example, an S8 user with pressures below 10 and some central apneas will pr...

Re: ResMed S8 vs S9 auto CPAP
Both the S8 and S9 report the 95% pressure as the pressure the machine was at or below for 95% of the sleep period. The calculation has not changed. But, if the S9 is supplying different pressure(s) in response to your events the 95% pressure will be different, too. The new S9 algorithm does not hav...

Re: Hose that will not dry out! Help!
Say you hang the hose over a shower curtian rod. It has a "U" shape with the open ends down. Air is trapped and cannot move the water out. So you take a rubber band and, near the top of the hose place it over the hose and then loop over the rod to go back over the hose. This holds the top of the ho...
