Well, I'm here back in FL and trying to get settled in. Things will get interesting when I start looking for work and stuff. Just thought that I'd drop a quick note to you all.

David

Thanks to everyone for the welcome homes. It is great to be back, and yet it sucks at the same time. lol.

Glad that you like the new avatar DoriC, and I sure will keep you all updated when I can.

Speaking of an update, I submitted an application the other day for a job with the county as an Emergency Manager Coordinator. Can't be that much different than the job I had when I was deployed.

Just a small update to you all for what is happening to me.

The job that I tried for, Emergency Manager Coordinator, well that didn't happen. I've put in many applications and I've been told no many times. I am suppose to have an interview on the 15th, and I'm hoping that I pass that and the driving test (I'm trying for a job where I am suppose to be a Test Driver) and if things go well, I might have a job after next week. Been home for almost 3 months and I can't stand having this much time with nothing to do job wise.

On another note, I've stopped smoking for a month and a week. For me, that is a great thing.

Take care everyone and I wish the best for you all.

David

David, sorry to hear your job search hasn't been productive yet. Thanks for the update. And congrats on time spent not smoking. That's a big accomplishment!

David...
Welcome home! You won't remember me as I did not find this group until 2012. Thank you for your service!!
I wanted to let you know what happened to my son who served our country for 20 years. When he came home he was basically in your shoes. He went into the Army right out of high school promising all of us that he would complete his education (college) during his service....Well he completed about 2 years of his education. In his search for a job he found that Frito-Lay hires ex veterans. They hired him and he has been working for them for 15 years now. Just throwing this out, not knowing your situation, but would like to help if I can.

Take care,

Janice
