Does a RDI of 49.7 really require a CPAP?

My RDI was 37 and I am on cpap---any number over 40 is considered severe-normal RDI is 5 or less-I did that google thingie to find the information on ranges--FA

As others have said, 49.7 qualifies as severe. Do you know what the breakdown of the three different types of events was? You should have a count of apneas, hypopneas and respiratory-effort related arousals on your sleep study report if you have that.
