Did some more diligent searching here... Found a reference to these things just shutting off. Seems that when sent if for repair they often just send back a new current version with newer firmware on it. Will see if, given that JUST out of warranty (I think) if I can get it fixed.
dang it.

Re: Anyone have a PR1 (Auto) that unexpectedly shuts off?
Thanks Jamis.... I was afraid of that. I do have the Auto-on and Auto-off set the way that I put it when I first got the machine... On when I whap the mask on and breathe through it... off if I happen to take it off in my sleep. This is new... I was laying there this morning and just thinking that g...

Anyone have a PR1 (Auto) that unexpectedly shuts off?
In the last few nights, I have noticed that my PR1 Auto seems to be shutting off unexpectedly. When first noticed, it would be as I was trying to fall asleep and all of a sudden the pleasant hurricane attached to my nose was gone. I have recently been noticing that I wake in the morning from time to...

Re: Dealing with a common cold, FFM, ASV
On moderately congested nights for me, it is always a FFM and I find that the Pur-Sleep "Clear" aromatherapy works very well. Even on bad nights, that combined with nasal rinses will let me get some significant sleep. That being said, BlackSpinner just gave me a thought for the really bad nights.......

Re: What is the best machine for easy inhale and exhale
I concur with what rested gal says. For me, I like my Respironics PR1 APAP and typically prefer it running in C-Flex vs A-Flex mode (A-Flex seems to "chop off" the inhale for me somewhat). However, when traveling, I have the small, light, and cheap Zzz-PAP CPAP with a fixed pressure and no exhalatio...

Re: Noiey Tubeing
Are you sure it is JUST noise in the hose? There may be some of that (I had it and cured essentially all of it) and I am not sure that a hose cover will be enough to stop it. I had noise from a couple of places, most notably the machine itself. To cure THAT, I actually put it in the bottom drawer of...

Re: question about new nasal pillows and pressure
Dennis, I think you may be right that there is an adjustment to account for that but, as I understand these, the mask and lead-in hose are designed as an aggregate system so the specs for it account for the hose diameter and might not be a specific issue... More likely an adjustment for the overall ...

Re: question about new nasal pillows and pressure
Evan, There is another discussion in the list at http://www.cpaptalk.com/viewtopic/t62911/fx--pr1--feeling-like-not-enough-air.html that may address some of this for you. The short of it is for me with the FX and medium pillows, I feel starved for air. With large pillows (albeit a bit harder to seat...

Re: supine lost forever
Mike, For me, while trying to figure out just what you are now, I found with any mask that seals "around" nose and/or mouth vs. nasal pillows, that it needed to be adjusted somewhat differently for me depending on whether I was on my back or my side. At least for how I arrange myself for sleep, if I...

Re: EncorePro2 on Mac with Parallels
If you persevere, you'll get it working either with the existing SD card reader or the alternative of an external plugged in. For me, typically the only times (and I suspect that TalonNYC has found this as well) I have had significant difficulty with a VM not doing what it needs to is in cases where...

Re: fx- pr1- feeling like not enough air
Packer, I fully agree with Dennis.... I use and really like the Swift FX and use that most of the collection of masks I have depending on what I feel like any particular night. Like Dennis, I definitely find the medium pillows leave me feeling starved for air while the large gives enough air but har...

Re: EncorePro2 on Mac with Parallels
KatyDidAgain, Would you happen to be using an iMac? If so, rather than the Mass Storage Device cited below, try to select (from that same Devices Menu) Devices -> USB -> Apple Internal Memory Card Reader. I am using both Encore Viewer and Encore Pro on my Mac with Windows 7 in Parallels. One does ha...

Re: Does Anyone Prefer Swift LT over FX?
I haven't used the LT but have the Opus 360 which is similar in construction AND the FX. Basically, if it is a "nasal pillow mask" night, if I am unusually restless, I will put on the Opus since it is indeed more rigid and firmly held. That being said, my favorite nasal pillow remains the FX just fo...

Re: Removing mask during sleep
Funny this popped up today... I haven't been around a lot lately as has been a monumentally busy time of year at work. I was going to sign off the new year with a thanks to everyone who helped me overcome just this very thing. For me it was a combo of getting used to the therapy, the mask, and the p...

Re: Ear Pressure Tip
Thank you LoQ for commenting. I guess everyone else had already figured it out but me! [/quote] Well.... I didn't have it figured out and with a touch of a cold the last several nights has been rather a bit of an issue for me. Felt like I was on an airplane landing. Thank you for passing this along.
