Got my Black Friday ResMed Autoset today

Post by Janknitz » Thu Dec 21, 2023 6:29 pm

It came! Looks great, I will set it up over the weekend. $301 with shipping for a brand new ResMed Autoset. They are still on sale at cpap.com for $399 which is still a great deal.

I thought I had an RX on file with cpap.com but it turned out to only be for supplies and masks. So I had to deal with Kaiser, but it wasn't too bad. I called, got through to a human in the sleep department, who asked me for the settings on my current machine and promised me a "wet signed" rx in a week. Well, it took 3 weeks, but whatever. Cpap.com kindly held my order until I could get the rx to them.

There is no modem on this machine but I don't need one and my current one has been set in airplane mode since I got it because at the time I was in the last week of a "good" Kaiser plan that didn't require compliance. I don't need to prove compliance to anybody now since I have no DME coverage, and I won't have any hassles next year when I go on Medicare, at least until this one dies. If the Medicare co-pay is $20 for 13 months plus 2 DME deductibles, I break even or I'm even ahead. If I get a supplement that covers those costs, I still feel ahead because my machine has exceeded it's useful motor life and could quit on me any time before I get Medicare. It's still working fine as far as I can see, so it will become my backup and emergency machine and live in my car trunk during fire season.

I have too much spam to read any promotions, so thank you to Pugsy and others who told about the sale. And thank you to cpap.com for offering an affordable replacement to my well-used machine.
