Re: S9 users: Do you prefer Autopap or CPAP mode?
I am still having apnea events on my current titration so my doctor wants to run me on autopap to see what it reveals. For those who use the S9, do you prefer CPAP mode or Autopap mode? Once the doctor discovers the correct titration I am thinking of asking him to leave it on autopap and set the pa...

Re: Quality of S9 equipment
How do you clean it? Once a month - * pour about 200ml of soapy warm water into the Climateline * insert a hose joiner to connect up the ends * slosh it around for a while * empty out the soapy water out * rinse with clean tap water * hang in the bathroom to dry Cheers, Bill So much for the cleanin...

Re: Quality of S9 equipment
I love, love, love my S9. Combined with a mask I like, it's like going to bed with a pacifier. I've only had it a few weeks and after hearing about all the problems with the Climateline hose I'm afraid to wash it. I wonder if there is some correlation between hose cleaning products /cleaning frequen...

Re: Which equipment provider should I use?
I would guess that the list provided by your sleep lab might be those DME providers contracted w/your insurance - but - better safe than sorry. I agree. Call your insurance company. I just assumed and was referred to an out-of-network DME. I went without a machine for several weeks after returning ...

Re: Are Fisher & Paykel full face mask noisy?
I woke before the alarm this morning and did some experimenting with the 431. I tried laying on my back. The mask leaked every time my chin dropped down towards my neck. It just broke the seal. Raise my chin a bit - zero leaks. I can even open my mouth with no problem. I realized that when I'm on my...

Re: How happy are you with your mask?
I'm still high from finding a mask that works perfectly for me. It's only been a couple of weeks so I don't know how well it will hold up with time - but I love my F&P 431. My dream was a mask that I could slip on all by itself, without chin strap or mouth tape, that would let me sleep on my side, s...

Re: CPAP Aromatheraphy
I use natural essential oils (which aren't diluted in a carrier oil, otherwise they wouldn't be called essential oil) and use a small circular cosmetic pad which is about 2" in diameter. Then I put a couple of drops of my oil of choice - eucalyptus, lavender or a blend of my own - on a pad, put it ...

Re: Are Fisher & Paykel full face mask noisy?
I use the Fisher & Paykel 431 and I love it. It actually works best for me when sleeping on my side - probably because my mouth opens more when on my back. I have not had to use a chin strap or mouth tape because of the built-in chin support as long as I stay on my side. I get 0 leak. I find it very...

Re: Quick question about S9 Sleep Report
That's great news. I'm getting better numbers at a lower pressure and sleeping much better. And I can still let the APAP do it's job the other 5% of the time. This is why it's worth it to be a pain-in-the-neck to the professionals who want us to just accept what they're told. I think I'll probably ...

Re: OT Why do we feel lousy the evening when sick?
I think it's just fatigue. When I was younger and had hay fever I could fight it off unless I got tired or hungry. By the end of the day all systems are gearing down and defences are weaker. At least that's my theory.

Re: Quick question about S9 Sleep Report
The Leak number on the S9's LCD (as opposed to the data you see in ResScan) is just the 95% Leak Rate. The way to interpret this number is that your leak rate was LESS THAN or EQUAL TO this number for 95% of the time the machine was running. And hence your leak rate was GREATER THAN OR EQUAL TO thi...
