Re: contact dermatitis due to Airfit F20 -newbie Sept 2019
An AirTouch F20 may be better for him than the silicone AirFit F20. It's the same mask except that foam rubber touches the face instead of silicone. The drawback is that the foam rubber degrades faster so the mask must be replaced more often. They say replace monthly, but I've used them for months. ...

Re: keeping your mouth closed while sleeping
In response to those who feel claustrophobic in a full face mask, it seems contra-intuitive, but I'm delighted with a TOTAL FACE MASK. The Respironics FitLife Total Face Mask is totally clear and does not obstruct my vision. I'm not in the least claustrophobic in it. I tried a dozen masks before set...

Re: Tap Pap - affect on teeth?
I need a night guard due to bruxism, but I hate the bulkiness of even custom made guards. My dentist finally had one made for me out of "Invisilign" material. It's super thin and light weight and amazingly strong. I've worn it for two years and have not ground through it yet. Mine covers just the fr...

Re: I Hate This
A non-pharmaceutical solution is to use a neti pot before bedtime and again in the morning to clean the nasal passages and sinuses.

Re: cervical collar and what a difference!!
Thanks for the tip. I have a "ReLeaf" collar, which is softer than a medical grade cervical collar. I've never tried it for sleeping, but I will tonight.

Re: Any last minute advice?
I'm astonished that cpap.com has a "F" BBB rating. It's true, I checked, but it's based on only 8 reports. Only 8 complaints? A drop in the bucket. I've never seen a complaint about them here on cpaptalk.com. (No, our host does not delete posts!) I've always been delighted with the service, but have...

Re: sleep apnea causing fibromyalgia?
I've had fibromyalgia for thirty years and chronic fatigue syndrome for about the last ten years. I have no idea how long I've had severe OSA. There have been lots of theories about the cause(s) of FMS over the years, and generally they get debunked sooner or later. I do know that sleeping with a CP...

Re: Fitlife mask?
I'm a Mac user so I can't read the data. I have to take the SD card to a pharmacy 30 miles away if I want a print-out. I rarely do that, maybe only once a year, since I'm sleeping well, refreshed, and alert. My chronic fatigue syndrome is pretty resolved and my fibromyalgia is also improved. It's ob...

Re: can't breathe
I solved the rhinitis (runny nose) problem by using a neti pot to rinse out my nasal passages and sinuses before going to bed. I had been using over the counter meds for years, but weaned myself from them. A neti pot is easy to use, it just looks like it would be gross!

Re: Newbie would like to hear success stories, please.
I've been faithfully using my CPAP for three and a half years. It took almost a year for me to see a noticeable improvement in my sleep and alertness. Don't despair if it's taking you a long time, too. It will get better. I credit the Respironics FitLife total face mask for my successful usage. It h...

Re: Fitlife mask?
Here it is three years since my earlier posting. I'm still happily using the FitLife total face mask, avoiding the well-documented forehead leak with a "Buff" tubular scarf over my head first, a chin strap, and the smaller size headgear that is now available. I love the FitLife because it doesn't r...

Re: Please take this poll for my college paper. :-)
DME's are idiots. This forum and self-education are the way to go. I have a pressure of 18 and use a Fit Life total face mask, which covers from eyebrows to chin. It took six months and over $1000 in buying useless, leaking, squealing masks until I settled on the Fit Life. I have been using it succe...

Re: Fibromyalgia and OSA POLL
I started taking Savella about the same time I started using a CPAP, so I don't know which has been the more helpful. I have never slept well so I take a sleeping pill, currently alternating between Lunesta and Ambien. Complicating the FMS and sleep disorder is the fact that I have an extremely stre...

Re: cpap mask
<<I started with the nasal mask, switched to the pillows, then to a full face>> I went another step further after trying all of these. I use a total face mask and am finally content. Respironics makes two types, the "Total Face Mask" and the "FitLife". Both cover from below the mouth to the forehead...
