Password for Encore Pro 2

Post by warrior391 » Tue Jun 29, 2010 4:42 pm

So it seems as though I forgot my password to sign in on EP2 and now I got locked out, and it says to contact an administrator...I AM THE ADMIN...Lol. Anyone have this problem and can we call resperonics and get support without them sutting down the program?

If you changed the EncoreAdmin password when you did the initial install there is no way to recover or reset this password. You will need to completely uninstall and reinstall Encore. This happened to our office, the original IT person that installed the software changed the password and didn't not use one of the IT defalut passwords. He quit working for the IT department, and noone could findout where he moved too, they contacted Respironics and were told there is no way to recover that password and needed to reinstall.
Canada...I can't say anything nice, so I won't say anything at all.

I changed it to my own password, but cannot remember it, I havnt signed on or downloaded info in a month and cant remember it..ugggg. If I uninstall and reinstall will I loose all the previous downloaded data? So resperonics cannot tell me my password or reset it?

I am not an IT person, but i believe if you can locate the data files and copy them and than replace them again after reinstall you should be ok. No Respironics can not retrieve your password, the software is not even connected to the internet, they would have no way to know that you even use the software unless you tell them.

Ah yea right, its just a software program, not an on line program like an email or on line account. Well al the data is downloaded into the software, the only way I can retrieve it is to sign on....lol. I think all the info should still be on my card though since I opt to leave it on the card after downloading it into EP2. Im still trying, the program lets me try once about every 10 mins...lol

I did that too. I never could figure out how to uninstall the program. It was not listed in the add or remove program file. Found several files associated with it and deleted them but it would not reinstall. Good luck!!

Ok, so I thought I uninstalled the program, from my add/remove programs. I reinstalled the new 2.3 version, but it is not showing up anywhere in my add/remove programs, and when I try to open it to sign in, I get a message "could not check the database version" and it looks like it's still the 2.2 version that never uninstalled completely. Anyone know how to get that working again please.?

This is the same luck I had. Same problems except I tried to reinstall the same 2.2. I could never figure out how to uninstall the darn thing. Lucky for me I did not need 2.2 because I am still using the older machines so I went back to EP1.8i. I wish I could help but I ran into the same wall. I figured if I got to the point where I had to have it I would bite the bullet and buy Viewer2.0. EP2.2 seemed hard to navagate any way. If you find some one that has an answer I might try mine again.

I accidentally locked my Encore Pro 2 account by incorrectly entering PW 3 times, read all the posts here, panicked, was blessed with an opportunity to download Encore Basic which installed on Windows 7 Pro 64 bit without incident. I did fumble around a little while downloading data from the card but that was caused by my lack of knowledge of the product. After reading the card, it produced the same reports as the Pro version but for some reason was very, very slow. I am running a Core I7 with 6 GB of RAM and several minutes was still required.

On resolution of the problem with Encore Pro 2, once I had a "fall back" position with Encore Basic, I decided to attempt remove, clean up tracks and re-install as described in some of the posts. In Virtual XP Pro running on the 64 bit machine, I went to the control panel and removed ONLY Encore Pro 2. I didn't do anything with the database.

At the end of the uninstall, I installed and ran Ccleaner. After the file cleanup with the selection of "smart cookie removal" disabled, I ran the registry scan then performed all indicated removal.

I selected advanced install then just chose options in a straightforward manner that clearly made sense. During the install, a message was received about the database name saying it was already in the system. I simply added the letter "B" at the end of the name and proceeded.

Once install had completed, application was started and EncoreAdmin was entered as user name with password1 used as directed. Immediately, a request for changing the password was received with which I complied without incident.

I thought the lock out information was probably held in the registry but I couldn't find it and it could also have been stored in the database since it was renamed, and I guess replaced, during the reinstall.

My data card contains over 2 years of information but Encore Basic read the information after on a few minutes. For some reason, Pro 2 took a very, very long time to read the data. In fact, I thought the machine has stopped responding and left it running to attend an obligation but on returning all data has been read and a report had been generated for the entire period. Inspection of settings revealed that option for actions following download had generating report selected which probably explains the extended “data download” time. The option was changed to “do nothing”.

Pro 2 is now operating as expected but I noticed that PW does expire after 90 days which is maximum allowed with my version. I will just be very sure that I avoid violation of the 3 tries on PW going forward.

Good Luck and Thanks Much For Encore Lite,

Ron

There is a way to change the EP pwd to 1 yr, I just don't remember where the option is at the moment. But you won't need EP if you have Basic with NO pwd.

Either package will take more time the more data it is downloading. Yes they will appear to just freeze up - so patience is needed.
