Re: resmed autoset apnea # unexplanable
The setting are 13 to 16. Average 13.4 to 13.8. I average 6+ hours of sleep per night, sometimes 7+. The machine is over 2 years old and has been flawless so far. I do question: is the APAP machine having an intermittent fault or is the a change from obstructive apnea to another form of apnea? The s...

resmed autoset apnea # unexplanable
I have a resmed elite s8 autoset II with about 5000 hours on the clock. I check the clinical menu to see how the previous nights trearment went. Usually I see apneas between 2 and 5, hyponeas between 5 and 10, mask leaks 0.18.. Recently, I have had two nights with apneas at 20 and 30, hyponeas at 30...

Re: Whistling mask.
I have a ResMed mirage MICRO and it whistles. I have use a mirage ultra without whistling. The micro makes noise at the vent and I will tap and rub the port--sometimes this will stop the whistling. I thing it whistles due to moisture collecting at the vent.

Fisher & Paykel 254 auto cpap
I have purchased a Fisher & Paykel 254 auto cpap and have installed the performance maximizer software. I have been using the ResMed s8 autoset II and also have the ResScan software. Both are set in the auto-titration mode. Now I am trying to see which machine suits my needs the best. First question...

Re: Can I be sure my machine's pressure is accurate?
Interesting question. Thought about this myself and have again asked the same question. I am considering one of these.: http://cgi.ebay.com/Invacare-Aneroid-Manometer-CPAP-BIPAP-Pressure-Gauge. I think that there are manometer made by CPAP manufactures that are easy to use with their equipment. This...

Re: shortness of breath
Although you state that you have had all tests that could point to the source of the problem--have you purchased an oximeter ? This could point to lower levels of blood oxygen levels at different times of the day. Also, check for side effects from all medication that you are currently using (ask the...

Re: Fisher & paykel sleepstyle icon "KEY"
Hi---Thanks to those that have taken time to respond to my question about the LCD--"KEY" icon. When I receive the performance maximizer software I shall share my observations about my new F&P 254 auto titration APAP as compared with my subjective observations about my S8 Autoset II APAP using ResSca...

Fisher & paykel sleepstyle icon "KEY"
I have a new HC254 autotritation cpap and have ordered the performance maximizer software. Until this software arrives and I have the software up and running I must rely on the LCD screen to review last nights results. One of the display Icons is a drawing of a KEY which is defined as "check sum": a...

Re: PAP-Cap Fabulous!
I use one and find that I can recommend it to all CPAP users. It is comfortable and flexible. However when I had my last sleep study I did not use it as you will have several sensors attached to you scalp and the conventional head gear appears not to come into contact with these sensors (I thought t...

Re: AHI 30 when awake and reading??
I have had a similar question and found that if I use the settling feature and set it for the length of time needed to fall asleep (35minutes) that I did not get bogus data. While you are awake you breathing pattern can be interpreted by the Autoset II and recorded as AI/HAI.

Re: HELP! HI is 42 w/APAP & no leaks???
Also, use the settling feature and set it to 30+ minutes. This will keep the APAP from recording data as you transition into sleep. Check you humidifier setting as it could be set too high or too low.
