Ok, the thing is called an MRI Spine Cushion. and here is a picture link
It is great for me as I have an artificial hip and this takes the "strain"off of the hip when I rotate up on it. The foam is "firm" but very comfortable.
It also keeps me from rolling over on my back. It is about 21" down the long axis. The base is about 9" wide and the angles are 45 deg so it is about 4 3/4" high at the peak.
I just got it today and I'll let you know how it works. Oh yeah, $45.00 so Ain't cheap!

I got mine at a pharmacy that caters to diabetics. Too bad you don't live nearby, I have never even used it I only got it because the sleep tech freaked out when they saw my numbers and couldn't get me an appointment for two weeks. However, they had a cancellation and I got in right away. So I never used the wedge.
Are they good for anything else, I wonder? Mine is a pretty high incline. I couldn't find a cover for it either.

bed wedge: Bed Bath & Beyond, 7" rise, Carpenter foam (US made), $30, comes with a cover. 3 yr warranty. I bought an extra cover, $9.99. Bought a baby crib waterproof cover ('cause I sometimes sweat a lot at night) at a baby shop...covers the pillow very nicely. Said to air out 24 hrs tho it had no odor that I noticed...I left it out 2 days. Slept on it last night for the first time...think it's gonna work out well, hafta find the right pillows to work with my contour pillow.

Muse, I'm right there with you, girlfriend! I just bought that exact wedge and used it for the first time last night, too! The only problem is that my back was hurting, and to lie on my side on the wedge made it hurt more, so I wound up sleeping on my back. I would think that sleeping on my back may offset the benefits of sleeping on the wedge...
I was about to start encasing mattresses and things like that to try to improve my dust/dust mite allergies, but I really doubt if I can find that kind of encasing for a wedge! Not sure how encasing everything but the wedge would help me... (Also I am a bit overwhelmed by the various encasing options, none of which seem comfortable...)

Dunno, check your numbers and how do you feel? Many have positional apnea. I've slept one night since April '07 on my back and I was an always sleep on back sleeper...side sleeping took some getting used to esp 'cause I gotta sleep propped up.
My challenge with the wedge is finding the right loft lower pillow so my neck isn't on a funny angle on the contour memory foam pillow...well, funnier than it already is given wearing a mask! I seem to end up lower on the wedge than I start out and that get's pretty uncomfortable...not sure why this is happening, nothing slides and I seldom move when I'm asleep. Tonight I have 2 different pillows to try.

Meyer Distributing has wedges of several thicknesses (16", 22", 26") p. 31-32 of 2010 catalogue. You must register first.
