I don't agree, and in my own case, my BMI is ~19.
Very interesting phenomena on this board. Very, very interesting. I'll figure it out someday. Some of it seems to be cognitive dissonance, but what else...?

Re: Can the slightly overweight stop apnea with weight loss?
I hate to be a stickler for details, but do you have any evidence whatsoever that a weight loss of around 10% has ever cured a case of sleep apnea? Are you seriously asking whether there has ever been a somewhat overweight person who was cured of their sleep apnea with weight loss? Explain how you ...

Re: Can the slightly overweight stop apnea with weight loss?
I developed sleep apnea at about the same time as gaining slight weight (and other things). Not to be a stickler for details, but you probably don't know exactly when you developed it, unless you had just had a sleep study at 155 lbs before gaining 15 pounds. I went from 155 pounds (normal for my s...

Re: vent about tech
We don't know how the information will be used in the future. I've had MSLTs in a busy hallway of a hospital, with doors slamming every couple of minute, yet physicians, including future physicians, use that data to make treatment decisions. I've had errors in my medical records that other physician...

Oy, already sent my request. Are the "Scoring Masks" likely to be included, or should I send another email?Sludge wrote:Find out what software package(s) they are using. Then we'll figure it out (they need to include the Scoring Masks (aka "The Evidence").

Re: format for sleep studies on CD?
I don't see why you would want this??? I've had several doctors ask to see the raw data from previous sleep studies. It says you have been a member since 2009. Isn't the important thing how you are doing on CPAP? I'm not on CPAP right now, but if I were on pressures I could tolerate without aeropha...

Re: vent about tech
They can do anything they want Once you are in bed the time starts, anything you do at a slept study is evaluated to see how long you take to goto sleep. If you weren't ready then you should of scheduled the appointment at your bedtime. It's called a sleep study not a reading study Have you ever be...

Lol don't get cranky everyone is attempting to help you understand. If you didn't want responses you shouldn't of posted to begin with. Who's cranky? Not me. I just completely disagree that they can start the clock while you're in the bathroom or reading, jerking off while watching TV, or whatever ...

Re: vent about tech
Kathy, if they start the clock when the lights are on and the person isn't trying to sleep, it becomes a Maintenance of Wakefulness Test. I even went to the bathroom after reading! Anyone who falls asleep while walking to the bathroom has more serious problems than even I do!

So how exactly would I word my request? This doctor is about as computer savvy as I am (possibly less), and doesn't have the benefit of my husband to help him with anything.

Re: vent about tech
In my latest sleep study, they hooked me up, we did the tests, then I read in bed for awhile, then they turned out the lights. I was on 10mg of Ambien, which knocks me out, and it says I had delayed onset for 40 minutes. No way, unless the entire time after the tests was counted as "delayed sleep", ...
