Re: Please help me figure out this camping battery stuff
Thanks for the replies. The family camping trip is kind of an annual thing, although once I get the battery setup all figured out, I could see going camping with my wife and kids occasionally. I expect most camping trips to be 2-3 days at most. Although I am interested in seeing how many nights I co...

Re: Please help me figure out this camping battery stuff
Just to report. I don't have a fancy amperage hours reader or anything, so I'm relying on volt readings right after I wake up. So far, this is what I can share. I wanted to test just using my machine exactly as I do now. That's with the full 5 humidity setting. I knew this would tax the battery cons...

Re: Please help me figure out this camping battery stuff
Thanks for all the info and feedback everyone. Its helpful to know whats working (and not working) for everyone, and the conversation helped a lot! I went with the setup CapnLoki recommended. It seems to fit my particular needs the best. I did go with official respironics wires for connecting to my ...

Re: Please help me figure out this camping battery stuff
Your cigarette lighter should have the alternator output (about 14.4 Volts when driving above idle) which is appropriate for charging AGM or flooded batteries. An advantage of larger batteries is that they accept a charge faster - you can figure about it will accept in Amps about a quarter of the A...

Re: Please help me figure out this camping battery stuff
this thread has the latest http://www.cpaptalk.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=103170&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&hilit=camping Plan to try it out ahead of time because the shipped product has a high failure rate (replacements seem to usually work) Thanks for that link. I read all 113 posts. That option looks interesti...

Re: Firmware Upgrade Review - new features for $65
Thanks for posting this. It really is a great option for people on older firmwares that would like the new features without paying for an entirely new machine. Sounds like you hit a few snags in the process but also was taken care of in a above and beyond fashion. Thats great. My experience had no s...

Ear ringing / distorted sound when I woke up today
Anyone ever had problems with their ears ringing? My right ear is ringing and any loud sounds I hear are distorted. I *think* it might be related to my apap because the problem developed overnight. I've had a degree of tinnitus for as long as I can remember, but this scares me. I'm guessing the pres...

Re: Updating the firmware on the PR System One machines
I have a spare straight cpap that I bought before I discovered apap. I used that old machine while I waited for the upgrade. I have to say that I'm really glad I did it. The pre humidification is a big deal to me.

Re: Updating the firmware on the PR System One machines
Just for fun, I called my own DME (the local Apria) and told them I wanted to get the firmware updated on my machine from v 2.01 to v. 2.53 specifically so I could have silent mode and humidifier preheating. They're going to call me back. Heh. I tried that too with my DME. (It didn't work) but I wo...

Re: *UPDATED with my paper*Please take this poll / college paper
Well done blakepro. Really, really nice! Thanks! Looks good. Was it just an one-page position paper or part of a larger document? It was a 2-3 page position paper. --- I just wanted to let everyone know that I got a 97% on the paper. Thanks again to everyone that took the time to participate and sh...

Re: Please take this poll for my college paper. :-)
As requested, my final paper is pasted below. I had a restriction on length so I had to be very selective with what I could and couldn't include. I wish I could have shared more of your experiences and such. In any case, I just wanted to thank you all for your help and for taking the time to do the ...

Re: DME fixes SD card to self-destruct?
The most common cause of memory card corruption is when you remove it from the computer or machine WHILE its writing data to it. Well, that and viruses that try to inject themselves into every storage device you connect to your computer...

Re: Please take this poll for my college paper. :-)
I had considered that the poll is probably at least a little skewed just due to the nature of the typical person that would attend a board about Apnea V.S. just the general public that may not know or care much about treatment options. Thats partly why I wanted to focus on the diagnosis and what the...
