ResMed S9 Elite DATA

Can anyone tell me offhand how long the SD Ramcard when inserted into the S9 Elite (just got it) will hold and keep data? I have two S9 Auto's and they record and keep data for a single day and when put back into the machine start afresh. Does the S9 series now keep the data until the card is format...

Re: Buying online?

I ONLY buy online. To say that one saves up to 75% is an understatement. I buy ALL of my supplies online as well and have even purchased by oxygen concentrator online. I bought a backup for everything to be safe but it has been 4 years and all still works A1. Think I may sell it all and go to the ba...

Re: Machine ate my card!!!

Sorry but it is hard to believe that a PLASTIC chip falling inside would trash the unit. I trust that they left you with the 'trashed unit' as something is just not right here. Have someone that is a tinkerer open it up and reassemble it. There are a few things that can be done to give it a try. Can...

Good reason for having a humidifier!

Firstly, no BBQing that week. Secondly, the air in the bedroom was cool and very dry. Not nice on the throat and lungs at all. These are the times when a humidifier makes sleeping more comfortable. HOWEVER, I mostly use my humidifier and heated hose on the S9 when I am plugged up with a cold or alle...

Re: Does ResMed H5i tank ever feel warm?

The H5i humidifies by blowing the dry room air over the water. Turning up the temperature of the humidifier will both heat the air and the water so that more moisture is in the air as it passes over the water in the tank, which SHOULD feel somewhat warm but not hot. Unfortunately, the nicely warmed ...

Re: CPAP Induced Aerophagia Causes Elevated Blood Glucose Levels

Now back to aerophagia and blood glucose levels. I started CPAP three years ago with normal blood glucose levels. I have had three years of aerophagia caused by CPAP. During these three years my blood glucose levels steadily rose to the prediabectic level and they are still rising and are now near ...

Re: Vicks vapor Run In front of Air Intake for congestion relief

From a health standpoint one has to wonder what the oils and foreign chemicals do to one's lungs when there is an alternative that is so easy to use. That is simply to get a heated humidifier and heated hose and crank them up as high as you can stand it; As one with chronic lung issues who has been ...

Re: Water Chamber Broken

If they won't cover it under warranty I'd just buy a new tank online where they are 1/2 the price of the DME.

If nothing is severely cracked, I'd just use some quality epoxy and glue it back together to be honest.

My AHI is 0.0 every night. I use a full face mask and maintain the rubbers; makes a huge difference.

Re: Cleaning

I only use my humidifier when I have a cold; I clean it weekly at that time using Control III disinfectant and rinse thoroughly. Use only distilled water BTW. I have five masks and wash them with Control III weekly (i.e. the chore is done once a month as I rotate them). I have two or three hoses and...

Re: Vicks vapor Run In front of Air Intake for congestion relief

I was thinking of Putting some Vicks Vapor rub on one of my Foam filters and Placing it in front of the Air Intake tonight fo Congestion. Has anyone ever tried this method of Vicks in front of the Air Intake for congestion Relief ? I know that the Vicks will harm the mask--hence the Idea of placing...

Re: Five Myths about the Canadian Health Care system from AARP

Also, please note that ALL health care is triaged. If you are in urgent need you are first in line. I was in urgent need in Dec 2011 and in May 2009. Believe me when I say I was FIRST in line!!! On the other hand in Dec 2011 (later in the month) I was not in URGENT need and I waited in line while th...

Re: O2 levels?

lots and lots of events - lol - it was impressive for sure - not that I understand most of it - but it was way nice Unless you have a lung disorder, you do not need supplemental oxygen. You just need to get your CPAP therapy under control, prevent the apneas and your oxygen levels will be OK. Learn...

Re: Getting a copy of sleep study results and prescription

I would most DEFINITELY get a copy of the study results in FULL along with the Rx issued by the doctor. You will need these should you have to go into hospital for another reason.... to verify that you require APAP while in hospital. I take a small amount of oxygen infused into my air line and prese...
