Re: What Causes Pressure to Rise?
No, nothing like that at all. I'm just fine physically.

Re: What Causes Pressure to Rise?
My pressure range is 11 to 16--is that what you mean? It's topping out. I'm getting concerned. Should I be worried?

What Causes Pressure to Rise?
What could cause my APAP pressure to rise? When I first started therapy, my CPAP pressure was at 8. The doctor gave me an APAP machine, and my pressure rose to between 12 and 13. Recently, my average pressure has risen again, to 16. What could cause such a rise in pressure? I have lost 40 pounds, so...

ELECTRICAL TRAVEL QUESTION
My husband and I (both on CPAP) are planning a two week trip to Italy this fall. I know that our machines are dual voltage, and I know that we need adaptors to plug them in, but we want to take extension cords in case the wall outlets are not close to the bed. Do we need any special extension cord t...

Re: AHI Rising Steadliy
Actually, Den, during the sleep test my pressure was at eight. The doctor said that the interval of sleep was too short to be sure of the data, though, and put me on a trial on an APAP machine for two weeks. From that data, he changed the setting to 8-11. Then, the DME mis-set the APAP to 8-16, and ...

Re: AHI Rising Steadliy
Jeanette and One Day--My AHI is vacillating between 8.2 and and 7.8 in the last few days. My husband is an engineer and is calculating the daily response from the 7 day average. These numbers show that the AHI has gone as high as 10.6 in one night. I don't have any idea why this is happening. I have...

Re: AHI Rising Steadliy
I have a Respironics APAP machine, but don't yet have the new software to read the card at home. I can only see the cumulative data that the machine reads out on the front. Would that help?
Thanks,
Papillon

Re: AHI Rising Steadliy
DoriC, thanks for asking. I feel about the same as usual, so feeling isn't a good indicator for me. I'm just concerned about the consistent rise in AHI. I have a call into the sleep doc, but no response today. Maybe tomorrow will be better.
Again thanks,
Papillon

Re: AHI Rising Steadliy
Thank you both for your replies. I tried a full face mask last night, and this morning my AHI was up another .4 to 8.2. I now have a call into my sleep doc to see what might be happening. I wonder if the higher pressure could induce central apneas. I do have data on my machine, but no way to read it...

AHI Rising Steadliy
Since I started using a new APAP machine about a month ago, my AHI has been rising steadily. It was never great--around 4.9--but this morning it was up to 7.8. It seems to raise in small incremental stages. My pressure was also changed with this machine, to a range of 11-16. Has anyone else had an e...

Re: What's the Matter with my A-Pap Machine?
Yes, the DME programmed it. The strange thing is that when I used the same machine for a 2-week diagnostic, my pressure never went over 12 in those two weeks. So, even if it's incorrectly programmed, it seems odd that my pressure would have been at 16.5 90% of the time. Hmmmmm, how can this be?

What's the Matter with my A-Pap Machine?
I just received a new PR System One APAP machine yesterday, to replace my basic PR machine. The machine was supposedly set to a range of 7-13, based on results of a previous diagnostic trial with the same type of APAP machine. This morning when I looked at the results on the machine, the 90% pressur...
