Re: CPAP and travel
Definitely check it. I have an old laptop bag that I put mine in while traveling. It has several pockets so I can also put my Kindle and a snack in the bag as well. As for why? I flew out yesterday morning and checked my luggage, carried on my CPAP and laptop. I arrived at my destination with my CPA...

Re: Newbie struggling
Welcome to the forums! Hang in there, it will pay off greatly in the end. I don't have your machine so I can't help there, but I will tell you that the best person to manage your therapy is you. only you know how you slept. Only you know how comfortable the system is for you. Only you know how the p...

Re: Reading the charts in Smartlink
@jweeks - Yes this is a lot more to the charts than what I gave you. I just needed info on that particular chart. I can't find the link, but there are examples of the reports on the DeVilbiss site. @snnnark - Thanks for the info. I am dealing with seasonal allergies and the congestion is making it h...

Re: I'm a little nervous to post this.....
If there was something to congratulate you on, not saying there is, I would most certainly congratulate you for doing something that I am sure you haven't done, because if you had then something good might of happened and we would all be very excited for you. But that's all just speculation of cours...

Re: Remembering dreams
I wonder how many dream-recall specialists these days agree with these words that Goodenough wrote in the late 70's: "Dream recall failures should occur unless the sleeper awakens within a matter of seconds after the dream experience occurs. If arousal takes place during the life of the short-term ...

Re: How long until I feel the benefits of CPAP
Not getting up to pee means your kidneys are getting a rest they really needed. And the path to the bathroom gets some as well! personally I noticed that I wasn't as tired all the time right away, but I wasn't sleeping much at all in an 8 hour night so I was probably a drastic case. I have talked o...

Re: Did I ruin my machine?
Purple, I am not qualified to to say if it is broken, but my rule of thumb with hardware making new noises (I work with computers) is that something is changed, and better safe than sorry. If nothing else take it in for a checkup. I would ask for a loaner since they are probably going to keep it so ...

Re: New Here.
Good for you and welcome to the community of Hoseheads! I would suggest taking the time to read through a few of links that are stickied at the top of the forum. RestedGal has some great info that helped me a great deal when I was making a decision on what to buy. Be sure to learn all you can so you...

Re: Reading the charts in Smartlink
I have to confess, mray300, I didn't see the letters at all until you mentioned them. I did find the manual for the software here but it doesn't really clarify the letters. Thanks for the clarification of the meanings. The only one I am still not clear on is the M for mixed. What is mixed? Does this...

Re: Reading the charts in Smartlink
Thanks all! i hate to admit it but I honestly didn't see the letters to the side until mray300 mentioned them.
What is a "mixed"? Does this mean I had a mixed drink? Or maybe that I should have at that time. hmmm, this could be good!

Reading the charts in Smartlink
I recently purchased the Devilbiss IntelliPAP with the SmartLink module and software. I am seeing really interesting information and can thanks to the FAQ here I can translate some of the info. However there is a chart on the single-night section that I am not sure the meaning of the markers. Below ...

Re: Newbie intro and a question about "DME" and equipment
Dan, I am very glad to hear that you are starting on therapy, especially for you and your family. I am local to you and so I have a pretty good idea of the DMEs you were offered, be sure to check them out and do yourself a favor and learn all you can about CPAP and OSA before dealing with them. The ...

Re: Traveling with CPAP
I travel regularly and found that I rarely have problems with TSA. However, I have found that they want you to remove the compressor portion off your unit from any baggage, and place it in a tub just like you would any electronic device. They will also want to swab it for explosive residue. Be aware...

Re: c-pap hose making a gurgling noise!
msjaci1977: Hang in there. As noted earlier, the gurgling is most likely rainout. I had it the first night I wore my CPAP, and it woke me up as well. My wife likes a cool room for sleeping so I started with keeping the machine near the floor and also keeping the hose under my covers. This helped a g...
