Re: What caused you to seek medical help,....
I have had 2 sleep studies. My first one was done about 15 years ago, due to my frequent arousals. I had mild snoring, but, no indication of Apnea or Hypopneas. They weren't sure why I had the arousals, but, suspected stress. I just learned to deal with it, without meds and it did get a little bette...

Re: Any success stories of beating sleep apnea by losing weight?
I have lost app. 45 pounds since I went on treatment. My readings seem to be about the same, which is super good. I have some hypopneas. I intend to lose more weight, but, I'm not sure that will make much difference, based on what I have read. I'll keep an open mind, but, we'll see. Oh, I wasn't sup...

Re: Resmed My Air
Does anyone know WHO has access to my info with ResMed MyAir? I vaguely recall signing something that the insurance or DME could monitor or confirm my compliance for a trial period, I think 90 days, but, then what? Are they still monitoring me? Does my health insurance check on it without me knowin...

Re: Is A "Perfect Score" Attainable?
It's good to compare notes, because, now I'm wondering if I should bump my pressure up just a notch to get a perfect score all the time, but.......I may just leave it. Bathroom trips were HORRIBLE for me before my treatment. So, even though, my numbers weren't that bad, my bathroom trips were. I no ...

Re: Is A "Perfect Score" Attainable?
I get 100's on my ResMedMyAir quite a bit. Usually a couple of times per week or close to it. And my AHI's are either .2 to .3 most of the times. Sometimes none. HOWEVER, I don't have a serious case. I mainly have some Hypopneas, that respond well with Cpap. I've also lost about 45 pounds, but, hone...

Re: Spinning my wheels :-(
I hope that you can work out those obstacles. Why not pick one thing to address at a time and see if you can remedy that and then move to the next thing? I think I might sleep in a separate room, if noise is bothering your spouse. It's just temporary and sometimes, anxiety that we may disturb others...

Re: Curlers with CPAP
Granted, lots of good looking hairstyles are obtained with the help of extensions, but, I can do pretty well on my own, with the help of some curlers. It's amazing the huge curls I can get from my own straight hair. I'm pretty sure that it looks better curly, because when I wear it with LOTS of curl...

Re: Curlers with CPAP
I've used the pink sponge curlers in my hair at night before and then put on my headgear. IT's a little tricky, but, doable. I stopped doing it though, and just now use a curling iron or hot curlers in the morning, when I want curls, instead of the overnight route. I like the idea of putting the hea...

Re: Interpreting AHI
Just another followup. This method of putting the head strap under the hair worked again last night. I got about 8 and 1/2 hours of sleep last night! I am NOT waking up with the strap creeping. I'm so happy!

Re: DreamWear Velcro Fix
I saw the idea about velcro and was ready to try it when Luvsbluberries suggested this. It worked for me last night, so, I may be able to avoid the velcro, though it seems like a good option. Instead of a ponytail, have you tried lifting all of your hair above the strap? (or make a ponytail, put ma...

Re: new user and strange issues
I agree that it's all about personal preference, but, I will add that when I was experiencing sore nostrils where the gel pillow sat on my nose, it was because I had it on too tight. Tight may seem to be better, but, for me, it was not. It's actually more secure when it's not tight for me. The lanol...

Re: Going back on CPAP
I hope that you like the pillows. I hae used Nuance Gel pillows from the start and have had a good experience. When they put the mask on me, I immediately knew that would not work for me. The pillows were great though.
Instead of a ponytail, have you tried lifting all of your hair above the strap? (or make a ponytail, put mask on, then remove ponytail holder) This works for shorter hair too.
THANK YOU! This method worked for me. I didn't have any slippage and thus, didn't awake at ...
