Re: Sanity Check
Pugsy offers excellent guidance. Though 12 seems to be the threshold with nasal pillow styles, I recently had a 16 cm patient go from the full face to a pillow without a problem. Don't hesitate to use a chinstrap if necessary though. A lot of folks think of chinstraps like training wheels on a bicyc...

Re: Sanity Check
Pressure of 17 with your mask type usually produces some leakage unfortunately. Even with EPR that's a lot of air to keep contained. The ResMed masks employ a bubble design that uses the pressure in the circuit to help make the seal. In addition to inhibiting this feature, overtightening, is probabl...

Re: Specific CPAP guidance or questions
Ran out of space on that last post. For the record, my primary purpose here is not to advertise my book. Though I do believe it is something that should be made available for all PAP users to read and welcome anyone to buy it, my goal in this forum is to answer specific questions about using PAP equ...

Re: Specific CPAP guidance or questions
Hello All and thanks for the welcome! I would have replied to these posts sooner, but was unable to find the thread. Sorry about that. The first question had to do with people staying compliant who feel little or no benefit. This is quite difficult indeed. In most cases I try to figure out why there...

Re: Newbie would like to hear success stories, please.
Though I have quite a few successful testimonials in the back of my book "Sleep Well & Feel Great with CPAP, A definitive guide", I'll be happy to relate a few here. I had a client call me the other day right at 9 am. I'm talking the second I rolled the phones over, she couldn't wait to call me and ...

Re: Specific CPAP guidance or questions
Okay, I have been asked, so according to the rules I should be in good shape. Title to my book is "Sleep Well & Feel Great with CPAP, A definitive guide". Do more people stick with treatment? Most of my clients do yes. Why is intellipap data the way it is. I'm not sure specifically what details you'...

Re: Where A CPAP Newbie Should Start
Hello All, When starting use of pressure therapy equipment, the best first step in my opinion is to educate yourself on the specifics of your condition. What sleep apnea does to a person's health is truly devastating. The more you know about what you are preventing, the more committed and patient yo...

Specific CPAP guidance or questions
Hello All, Just a very short note to introduce myself to the forum. I've been in the medical equipment field for over a decade and have instructed thousands of patients on how to successfully use their CPAP devices. Though I have written a book on the subject and will be happy to share the title if ...

Re: Trying Hard Not to Commit Suicide
The words in the title of the post are a little difficult to get past. Hopefully they are chosen for emphasis only. Regarding not feeling benefit from the CPAP, even after perfect compliance, is unfortunately quite common. Pressure therapy devices will keep your airway open however, they don't by th...

Re: my usual weird night that's impossible to make any sense of
That does sound very difficult to make any sense out of. Generally, when I look at information provided on the machine or downloaded to a computer I try to compare more than one night's data looking for some continuity. Are your results similar from one night to the next?
