Re: Useless Doctor
Most doctors want: 1. you out of their office in five minutes 2. do absolutely zero research to determine the exact diagnosis 3. prescribe meds rather than diagnose your underlying problem 4. dont listen to your symptoms Thus, GOOGLE is your best friend. You can find out WAY more information on goog...

Re: Self-Diagnosis of Complex Sleep Apnea? Help is appreciated.
Get another doctor. This lack of "concern" is troubling. Ive experienced this, and it is COMMON. The best evidence of it is when they want you out of their office in five minutes, and dont LISTEN to your problems, and genuinely try to SOLVE them. Do your research, and be willing to travel a bit to i...

Re: At The End of My Rope
Stay the course, and keep making changes.
You need a vision of being successful in the end at the end of a long challenge.
And as I say to others, make sure you sleep on your side, and dont eat after dinner.
Check into reflux, which could cause further problems, along with food allergies.

Re: Giving away cpap machine
My advice: 1. Keep the machine. Even if you choose not to use it now, you will WANT it later 2. Sleep on your side. If necessary, rig up a collar around your wrist tied to the side bed frame so you cant roll back to your back. 3. Get tested for reflux. This can aggravate sleep problems. Dont eat aft...

Re: OTC sleep med
The Wal Mart knock off of Unisom, Doxolymate Succinate, half tab works perfectly for me.
Ive discovered that the other major OTC sleep med ( sominex) only keeps me awake.
You might also try Excedrin or Tylenol PM.

Re: Newbie question on APAP pressure
I was originally set at 9, but felt like I was working too hard to "pull in" air. So i requested sleep doc change to 10 which he resisted, but gave in to. I think its an individual thing. Its important to remember that its not just apnea/snoring youre trying to prevent, but that you need to get the ...

Anyone Have Milk Allergy? Along with Apnea?
"When a person who is allergic to milk eats a food that contains milk products, the body's immune system mistakenly sees the milk proteins as dangerous "invaders." The immune system responds by creating specific antibodies, which are designed to fight off the "invader." These antibodies — called imm...

Re: Reluctant to Sleep
I think youre talking about a lifestyle habit more than anything else. Those kinds of things are deeply ingrained into your thinking and attitudes, and naturally, fears play a big part in the human psyche and conscience. Before I got married, I would literally read, almost compulsively, into the wee...
