Re: Pets Disrupt sleep (per study mentioned on TV)
Yeah, theyre your babies and you have to make sacrifices for them as they get older Well, yeah. Pets disturb sleep. When my Sunny Lady was developed heart issues, it disturbed my sleep a lot, because she had to have meds in the middle of the night. When she was dying of cancer, it disturbed my sleep...

Re: Bad bad bad night. Did I go too far?
Agreed, IMHO the 2 point pressure increase may be a desperate attempt to correct something spiraling out of control. But usually, even if that is the right pressure, its too much too soon and it could get worse. If you have to, a 1 point increase. Also try 2 different masks with the same pressure se...

Re: Can CPAP be a torture for some?
Anything can torture people. We all have some kind of phobia, but if it is advanced, just swallowing food can be a severely stressful phobia for some people. Slamming a mask over your mouth at night and blowing pressure down your snout is not a natural thing. I dont know why i never really struggled...

Re: full mask too hot in summer?
I make sure its COLD in the room, or have a quiet fan blowing.
Its not the mask, its the breathing of that hot, humidified air that makes you claustrophobic.
Try the AC down to 67 and see how that works one night.

yup, we ALL leak, especially episodically, but newbies especially dont realize how much badJulie wrote:But what about leak rate data, etc?
data is caused not by system or pressure setting but by LEAK rate.

Re: Chin Straps & Can't Keep Mouth Shut
the full face takes a bit to get used to for the claustrophobic, but at least youre not dealing with that
extra problem.
My quattro fx is the best ive had, little leakage, and after awhile you simply dont notice that your
entire breathing is under a mask.

Re: AHI still erratic, time to wingding?
Its very hard to correct long-term backsleeping. Ive tried just about everything, but i did retrain myself to my side but it took 6 months. The only thing that absolutely prevented roll over was a wrist band tied to the bedrail via cord. I short roped it so no way i could roll onto my back and still...

Re: Sudden increase in AHI
(belated reply) From experience, a sudden AHI spike or Periodic breathing problem is caused by 1. LEAK. It follows a sudden leak problem for that ONE night or a worn out mask 2. Gerd/eating causing bad dreams, reflux, and bad numbers 3. Irregular sleeping patterns, getting out of routine 4. CHEMICAL...

Im trying to get a quick appointment at cleveland clinic, i dont want this getting any worse. In the mean time does anyone generally recommend increasing/or dec...

Re: Struggling getting used to CPAP. Help!
Use a quiet fan to blow air in the direction of your body and your machine intake.
COOL air makes you feel significantly less confined than warm stale air.
Or simply crank the AC and use an extra blanket. Breathing cold air makes all the difference.
Do you have exhalation relief set to max?

Sudden Periodic Breathing Spike After Self-Switch to Bipap??
Im turning for help and ideas here as usual. I "self-switched" myself to bipap 1 year ago (basically the cleveland clinic dr. 'approved') and it immediately ELIMINATED the constant VSNORE. Apparently my airway WAS collapsing upon exhale, not my tongue, and their worthless AHI-only reliance was wrong...
