Re: newbie! help with mirage liberty full face! please
OK this is what I did about the nasal pillow leaks. If you go to a dollar store or even maybe the grocery store purchase a bag of small hair scrunchys I put 2 around each trunk of the nasal pillows(sometimes one on each works) and make sure you tighten but dont over tighten the upper straps. These s...

'It does however seem to me that in your way of thinking, if you stop losing weight then that means even more time on the bike and walking. And if that fails you spend more time on the cardio trail until your body thinks you are trying to kill it and it decides to go into adaptation to starvation mo...

Re: O/T 106 pounds lost and 34 to go.
How did you accomplish this? I need to lose some significant weight. I was hoping the CPAP would give me the boost in energy needed to exercise! I maintain my calories at about 1500 cals perday plus a weekly re-feed day on Wednesday when I up my calories to about 3000. I do this to make my body thi...

Re: Obesity & Sleep Apnea
Well, once I became diabetic, and an annoying doc told me I couldnt lose the weight without the g bypass surgery (not knocking the surgery-it saves lives)I lost substantial weight. I have a history of diabetes on one side of my family including an aunt that died in pre teen years when they put a new...

Re: Help with Mirage Liberty Full Face Mask with Nasal Pillows
This is what worked for me I put 1 small hair scrunchy thing around each nasal pillow(the scrunchies are small maybe aprox. 1/2 inch) sort of acting like an o-romg I guess, and I put a coating of lansinoh around each nasal pillow on the part that contacts your nostrils. It took me about a month to f...

Re: OT: Diabetes and Byetta
I was on Byetta for a while. Didn'y work for me and went on insulin. Have been doing the Adkins diet (high protein & green veggie-no carbs) since Easter. I've lost 37 lbs and use very little insulin. Another 30 pounds and I hope to be insulin free. Either way the diet controls the BG. No carbs=no u...

Liberty mask leak fix maybe
I started off with the scrunchy fix but got the scrunchys to late at night. So I took a couple of the small ones approx 1/2 width and put them on the tree part of the nasal pillows and it was enough to stop the nasal pillow leaks. Hopefully it stays that way.

just a thought about mask leaks and bipap
I was curious so I went ahead and set my epap the same as my ipap and the leaks were close to non existant. So it seems that pulsating or different pressures forcing the mask in and out with bipap therapy makes the mask a little tougher to seal.
