Re: 3 weeks in - issues
Not liking this new mask either.... I fear I am going to give up on this as I have yet to sleep one night with the mask on for more than 4 hours....sometimes it is less than 2 hours. I seem to find it comfortable when I first start to go to sleep but continual awakenings frustrate me as I have no id...

Re: continued tiredness, aerophagia, reflux
I suffer from reflux and what I have learned about the acid coming up into your throat, is that I never fall asleep on my right side. If I do and have been eating acidic food, the chances are high that I will have an attack. I fall asleep on my left side and I never get an attack. Even if I roll ove...

Re: 3 weeks in - issues
So I went to sleep last night with this new nose piece that completely covers your nose. It feels better than the nostril device and I can move around with no changes in air flow...but once again at about 2 or 3 am I had to take it off as I found that inhaling was fine but when I exhaled it seemed l...

Re: 3 weeks in - issues
I went back to the clinic and I swapped out for a nose mask that encompasses the nose and feeds air directly in front of the nose piece... The strapping seems much more aggressive but at least this mask will let me sleep on my side. A chin strap may be in the future if I can't keep my mouth shut. I ...

Mouth breathing is one of the main culprits for dry mouth but there are other culprits and using a full face mask doesn't guarantee no dry mouth anyway.
Where are you located?

Re: 3 weeks in - issues
I'm not sure i could take a full face mask as I seem to get very hot even with just the nasal mask and a couple of rubber tubes down the side of my face. I should correct that and say I feel very hot and uncomfortable with things touching my face.

3 weeks in - issues
So it has now been about 3 weeks since I came home with my loaner CPAP machine. I selected the mask that is just a nose fitting with very soft rubber and the two nostril inserts... the air comes in from the top of your head and goes down 2 sides and into the nose fitting. I thought this would be the...

Re: New to forum...first night questions
Ahhh...Canadian health care system. Seems like some variation in how things are done or paid for with each province. It makes a difference because some people might give you responses that would apply more to the US based health system which of course wouldn't work so great for you. OHIP (Ontario H...

Re: New to forum...first night questions
Just a short note here. I probably have had sleep apnea for well over 10 years. My wife told me continually that I stop breathing during my sleep. I really did not want to get tested for it as those that I knew back then that had the machines generally did not use them and were probably not well inf...

Re: New to forum...first night questions
Thank you very much for the fast reply. The unit is a loner so I will wait until I get the permanent model which will be a Phillips dream something or other before putting any info in my profile. The report the sleep dr gave me indicated that I stop breathing 36 times per hour..... how does that rat...

New to forum...first night questions
HI All, Glad I found the forum. I have a CPAP unit for a 1 month trial. Last night was my first night. I chose the most uninvasive mask I could find and although I don't know the model number it is simply a small rubber device that inserts gently into the nostrils and air is fed in through the top o...
