You're not a freak at all. I've heard a lot of people say they like it. For me, I actually enjoy the air since it makes it so much easier for me to breathe. My problem is the therapy wasn't working.

But I DO like the air. It has a calming effect and usually makes me ready for sleep within 10-15 minutes max.

Well, compared to the alternative, yes I love it. I recently fell asleep on the couch and was quickly reminded how much I love it.

Eek, the freak from Hillbilly Creek!!!

Sorry, couldn't resist.
I have no idea where that phrase came from, but I heard it in my childhood. Funny how you remember weird stuff like that.

Glad to hear you like your therapy.

yup. freak. me too.

A few mornings ago I shut the machine down and took the mask off before I had quite /fully convinced my body to get up. Laying in bed an extra minute I felt myself in danger of starting to drift.. back.. to... sleep. NO NO - flew myself out of bed, right then. An extra little snooze in the morning can be a luxury, but without the mask? nuh-uh. nope. not luxury. not without my mask, it ain't. not at all.

OK. I've been there a number of times (Western part), have some friends there and thought it was very pretty. But, like Nebraska (where I grew up), there's too much humidity (year-round).

We Montana-uns can get a little weird--i totally agree with you--and when i get a new mask i get excited to go to bed and give it a whirl around the mountain--

I like CPAP therapy, if only it could be delivered by IV.

Darlee -

How come you haven't been back to the sleep doctor in 5 years since you were diagnosed? That seems like an awfully long time.

Another "freak" here I remember talking to friends who had the cpap machine way before I even knew I had a problem and they complained all the time about how hard it was to get used to - while I'm sure that there are many people who have a hard time adjusting, I LOVE it as well.

Darlee,

So sorry to hear you had cancer. If you are able to go back to the sleep doctor, that would be a very good idea. You may need your pressure tweaked. You want to be able to get the very best result from your cpap and feel fully refreshed from your sleep so that your body can be strong each and every day. Let me know when you have an appointment.

Warmly,

Jersey Girl
