Re: New TSA rules?
My CPAP also only needed to go through the standard conveyor belt on my most recent air travel. No manual inspection or swab. I asked TSA what had changed, and was told that the previous policy had been reevaluated since ever more CPAPs that folks are traveling with are newer models which have much ...

Re: Taping the mouth
3M #2080 is for delicate surfaces and is claimed to be "60 day safe" on common surfaces that would be covered while painting. #2090 is a more standard (and at my Lowes, more common) painters tape rated at "14 days safe removal". They each come in the same variety of widths. I followed the forum advi...

Re: Reverse Engineering
So, i decided to do some reverse engineering. I'm about 30% done. Is everyone else doing the same ? What are you doing that is 30% done? Count me in also as quite curious. Regarding what you're doing, and how you've figured that percentage. I was also quite interested in 'interpreting' the data wri...

Re: Two months on the hose. Dropped flex. Best scores ever.
It's been two months now since I turned off Flex (four months overall into therapy) and I thought I'd check in. My average AHI for these past two months is: 1.0 Been feeling great, although I'm not pushing myself as hard as I was at first to make sure I get enough hours of sleep, which is so critica...

Re: Call me a Freak but...
Call me a Freak but... but I actually love my cpap therapy. yup. freak. me too. A few mornings ago I shut the machine down and took the mask off before I had quite /fully convinced my body to get up. Laying in bed an extra minute I felt myself in danger of starting to drift.. back.. to... sleep. NO...

Re: ReadingSD card
From your description, I'd recommend checking the physical lock slider on the side of the SD card. It should be set to the position indicated by the arrow, forward; closest to the metal pins on the backside of the card. If the card has been hard-locked this whole time, you're not completely out of l...

Re: New CPAP Cost Questions
I imagine your first sleep study was not free. How potentially unfortunate that they're asking you to do a second one across the calendar-year break btw 2009 and 2010. I pushed hard late last year to ensure my CPAP study and equipment purchase were done by December so all the costs were put in the s...

I figured that pictures might be far better than my description above, so I'm trying to post them. Here's 6 minutes with Flex on 3: http://i793.photobucket.com/albums/yy220/dyl4nz/CPAP/wave_6min_flex_3.png And 6 minutes of No Flex at all: http://i793.photobucket.com/albums/yy220/dyl4nz/CPAP/wave_6mi...

Re: Two months on the hose. Dropped flex. Best scores ever.
Glad to hear feedback that other folks have also been doing great with no exhale relief. It's both encouraging and validating, thanks. And I hope it trials well for you too mipookiebear. It's great that while these machines are functioning nightly for us as long-term lifesavers, they can also be tun...

Two months on the hose. Dropped flex. Best scores ever.
After giving it much thought, I committed the often-discouraged act of "changing several variables at once" two nights ago on my APAP. I'd been getting steady numbers averaging just over AHI = 2.0 since the beginning, with a personal-best of maybe 1.5, and most tweaks to my settings were doing nothi...

Re: Clear Airway Apnea = Central Apnea?
What have I wandered into? I second that sentiment. I came back to this thread a short while ago intending to thank rested_gal for all those links yesterday, and got way confused. Thanks to those of you who cleared it up; I was really scratching my head on that for a bit. Regarding those links (aga...

Re: Clear Airway Apnea = Central Apnea?
I recently became interested in that same question, and after a small amount of digging, concluded the same thing: that Clear Airway == Central Apnea. I've only just become interested in this and could easily be wrong so don't count my vote for too much, but I found some forum posts indicating that ...

Re: system one auto cpap
Sadly, the distinguishing feature of the PR-Series is that no patient-accessible software is currently available for detailed review of the therapy data. That makes it a "non-starter" for most folks. For the majority of forum members likely to state an opinion, that will be it. And I concur. A machi...

Re: Speculation: EncoreAnywhere a patient-accessibility solution
Doze EP 1.8 was not sold to pt's. Their is a difference between pro and viewer. Viewer you just view hence the name the pro version allows you to change the machine setting, put reminders on the card put the prescription on the card and many more things but was not intended to be sold to the pt's. ...

"I had a dream" that one day the software would be loaded on a USB drive AND would be 'included' "in the box" with the machine - I HAD A DREAM!! Gumby said it dreamit!! Amen to that! There's no reason they'd even need the added cost of an extra USB drive or even a CD-ROM. The SD card that already c...
