Large size Regenesis pillow

Post by Uncle_Bob » Thu Dec 24, 2009 9:25 pm

I know there are several people awaiting Pur-Sleeps new larger Regenesis Buckwheat pillow.
So i just wanted to let people know that i have the regular pillow now and have heard that the larger pillow is likely to be available within the week. I have an order in and hope to receive one ASAP. I will then switch to the new larger one and post a comparison review as soon as i feel possible.

Do you find your current buckwheat pillow noisy?

Yes.......the buckwheat hulls make noise, BUT when you push the hulls into position they stay there. If the hulls aren't rearranging, you don't hear noise. It doesn't bother me a bit at night. I find the pillow to be a bit hard when I turn side to side--but leaks decreased when I started using the pillow. The benefits far outweigh the little bit of noise that I hear just before I go to sleep......

Let me ADD to the USERS that "Does NOT" have a problem with noise -- It might be the Quilted casing that solves the problem!

I'm using a Tempurpedic pillow now but it's silly stupid heavy to travel with. I'm looking for a lightweight pillow that won't put me over the airlines luggage weight limit : ) I'll give it a try. Thanks Bert and fidelfs - glad to know it's not noisy and I'll be certain to get the one that is quilted : )

Darn, I wish I knew there was a large size coming....I just broke down and ordered a Regenesis last week....it arrived on Xmas eve.

UPS handing me the box kind of threw me....it was lighter than I expected and wasn't the shape that I was expecting to be handed. My previous buckwheat pillow was standard sized and came full....also it was cheaper. Though the 10% off code helped on ordering the Regenesis. Plus I had a really sore neck and was thinking the quilted pillow would shield me from the buckwheat...and maybe I won't have the problems I've been having....

Didn't enter my mind to see if delaying to next year to see if I could get FSA reimbursement....

So far it has been good...though I'm not sure about the level of buckwheat fill, think I'll try adding another pint or two....

The Dreamer.

Did they send extra fill or did you get it somewhere on your own?

It came in a cube box....instead of a pillow shaped rectangular box.... Inside, was the quilted pillow liner (empty), a pillow case and a bag of buckwheat. And, looks like there would be enough to stuff the case solid....it recommended starting with 8 pints for back sleeping or 12 pints for side sleeping. I started with 8 pints...I'm up to about 10 pints now. Which feels about a little less than half of what is provided.

What exactly is the benfit of this pillow? I seem to be very finicky about my pillows...some too hard, some too soft...use some sort of foam pillow now and it works ok. I sleep mainly on my side and some on my stomach. Would this pillow work for me?

I too am hoping for an upgrade price.........Bret wouldn't have to send us as many hulls. A new cover and additional hulls would be great!

So I've managed to get some XL inventory ready to go: http://www.pur-sleep.com/products/prodD ... rch=&page=

New pricing on the original and XL version as well.

Anyone who previously purchased a pillow and would like to upgrade, please send me an email for a deeply discounted coupon code: bret@pursleep.com

The original pillow is also available through Overstock at a good value: http://www.overstock.com/Home-Garden/Pr ... oduct.html It does not come with a case, however, so the economics are close. Overstock reviews are welcome!
Try the Scented CPAP Mask with Pur-Sleep's CPAP Aromatherapy--CPAP Diffuser and Essential Oils.

The noise does not bother me, I can hardly hear the hulls as the quilted pad is nice and thick.
