Re: I'm new to Auto CPAP - Not sure what range to set

The body is going to be used to one way of doing something and when we start making really big changes to the routine then sometimes sleep quality suffers. There are pros and cons to everything though. My body is going to be THRILLED to have a humidifier again and my wife is going to love this quie...

I'm new to Auto CPAP - Not sure what range to set

I've been using CPAP set on 12 for five years, but my machine needed to be replaced (the humidifier died). I just replaced the old CPAP with an Auto CPAP, but I'm not sure where I should set the ranges. If my prescribed level is 12, what is a typical range to start out with on an auto machine? Thanks!

Re: Humidifier mystery

Are you sure your humidifier chamber hasn't been cracked or started to leak someplace? I was curious about that too, but I think I'd hear it whistle if it weren't intact. All the air flows through that chamber, so the therapy wouldn't be working and the leak detector "beep" would go off all night (...

Re: Humidifier mystery

What setting do you use on your humidifier? You are in SoCal...is your area particularly arid area? How many hours of sleep do you normally get? What pressure due you use? All the above will affect the quantity of water that is used. Since you say this has been happening only for the past few month...

Humidifier mystery

I've been having trouble with my humidifier for a few months. My mouth and sinus have been bone dry and I can't detect any moisture at all from the humidifier. It seems like it's broken, but it boils off the water. I can't figure out what's wrong. I've replaced the hose (thinking there might be a le...

Re: CPAP equipment and Flex Spending Accounts

You'd be surprised at how much you can "get away with" in your flex spending account. Submit it all (even the comfort items) and let the plan's administrator reject it if they have time. You can argue the medical need for those comfort items with pretty good standing. You wouldn't buy a hose cover i...

Re: suggestions to Johnny for the board

......... I've also found it harder to track threads I want to follow because they fall down the list so quickly if they haven't been bumped within the past few hours. It's like reading a book where the chapters are constantly in a different order than the last time. Are you aware of the function o...

Re: DME Just Called - yikes

How comfortable are you with your doctor? Does your doctor understand your request for a data capable machine? Although everyone does work for YOU, you're at your doctor's mercy to some degree (unless you can afford to spend the time it would take to find another doctor). So convincing your doc to w...

Re: suggestions to Johnny for the board

A further related reason for no categories is to keep this forum newbie-friendly. I actually found it to be just the opposite. I found the long list of topics to be a little overwhelming and at least one response to my "new guy" thread was not welcoming at all. I've also found it harder to track th...

Re: suggestions to Johnny for the board

While the Suggestion Box is open, I would love to see categories for the posts. This is the only forum I follow that doesn't organize posts by categories. I find it much more difficult to follow this forum when all of the topics are listed in one long "bucket". Topic categories make it easier to fin...

I also use a Kill A Watt monitor to check for the initial startup draw from any questionable device I plug into my my inverter. Many devices with lower ratings have a big kick when they first start up.

Re: Good News for Respironics PR Users!!

Not that I'm a cynic, but having worked in the software universe for the past 18 years, I've learned that "first part of 2010" is code for "any day before 07/01/2010" (which would be the first day of the "second part" of 2010). And the vague promise of delivering some time before 07/01/2010 comes wi...
