Re: Finding a Sleep Doc
Kelvin, I found a pulmonologist who has sleep apnea himself and so does his nurse. When I go over my concerns he is so much more understanding and competent because he has gone through it himself. It would be difficult to call each doctor and ask them if they have sleep apnea but you might try socia...

Re: For Her??
After 5 yrs., I was due to receive a new machine from Medicare. My DME didn't win the Medicare contract in my area to supply machines which started July 1. He said he was not going to stock ResMeds anymore because he couldn't make any profit on them but he had a few pink ones left. I told him pink d...

Appreciate everyone's help. See how easy it is when you talk to helpful people who know what they are talking about.

Sometimes it's easier just to ask Pugsy.
Hi Pugsy, I have a question for you if you would be so kind to answer. (I spent about 15 mins. looking for it to no avail) Background- Upon reading what you wrote about Tap Pap, I decided to purchase one. I've had it for about 10 days and am very happy with it. AHI is very close to zero. Nose is sli...

Re: Mirage Quattro high pressure seal life?
Dave, I picked up a mirage Quattro about a week ago and like it although I still switch back and forth with my nasal mask. I like to keep some spare parts on hand just in case and I am assuming that your reference to the high pressure seal is the Cushion and Clip for about $54? Since you may not be...

Re: Mirage Quattro high pressure seal life?
Thanks for the suggestion Ed. I've been using pad a cheeks for a while. Which is why I am questioning the 2 month life span of my seal. But It does go some major continuous flexing each night because of my higher bi-level pressure.. Dave Dave, When I see someone with such high pressure I recall my ...

Re: Mirage Quattro high pressure seal life?
Hi Dave, I use the same mask as you do. Have you tried PadACheek's mask liner? It cuts way down on my leaks plus I like the feel of the smooth fabric on my face, rather than the rubber/plastic feel of the seal. I change my seal every 3-4 months mainly because I get them for free. Since my face never...

Re: Quattro FX Full Face straps hurting ears
Okay. The parts number for the Large headgear for the Quattro FX is # 61738 (L) You might also want to contact Karen at padacheeks and try hashing out your problem w/her. She's mighty darn good at coming up w/a soft, comfortable padding solution to most mask/headgear problems. This is the best answ...

Free ResMed Mirage Quattro SmallFF mask & Climateline tubing
I was just replacing my mask and tubing with new and I said to myself I can't throw out perfectly good stuff when there are so many people suffering in this poor economy. (Does not include headgear. You can get it on E-Bay) If you PM me, I will send you the supplies listed in the title totally free....

Re: Defective ResMed Cushions??
A few months ago I tried a mask liner from Padacheek. Right away, I liked the feel of the material on my face especially as opposed to the rubbery/plastic feel of the cushion. The material is like a very smooth fleece. The best result was that my leaks just about disappeared. I don't even think abou...

Re: Resmed S8 Autoset info?
Koz, Type in the search box near the top- S8 card reader If your card is in the machine, it will automatically record your data. You need a special card reader for this machine. I remember that I put the card in the machine and then I had to flip it upside down to put in the reader. If you don't hav...

Re: Any Thoughts Appreciated
I think SleepingUgly hit the nail on the head. Get a recording oximeter and use it with and without the CPAP machine.SleepingUgly wrote:Are you using an oximeter?
The whole purpose of CPAP is to keep your oxygen level at the proper lever so your body is getting enough oxygen when you are sleeping.

Re: Further adjustment S9 Needed?
Pugsy definitely knows a lot more about this than I do but I'll tell you what I did-- Set the EPR on 2. Set the pressure on 4-20. Slept a few nights and looked at my data. Pressure was 7-11. My AHIs were 5-7. Slowly cranked up the bottom pressure up to 9 until my AHI's were 0. Left the top pressure ...
