need some settings help changing from FFM to Swift FX

I'm using a ResMed S-9 AutoSet. I have been using the ResMed Mirage Quattro FFM for years. Yesterday, my sleep doctor gave me a ResMed Swift FX Nasal Pillows system. On the Quattro I had my pressure set at 9-20. When I hooked up the Swift, I changed the menu from FF to pillows. I think I remember wh...

Re: Need advice on how to make a complaint to Medicare about DME

Some outfits are so poorly run that I often make the choice to save myself before saving the world. I know it seems selfish, but that's essentially what we are told on an airplane. You can't help others until you help yourself---first! Fixing the system can wait. Chunk, I see your point. I can affo...

Re: Need advice on how to make a complaint to Medicare about DME

Chunk, it would be very hard. I would have to start all over again with all the paperwork. Should I let them get away with very poor service. It's not in my DNA. I am paying for Medicare. It's not free. They take it out of my Social Security. Avi, I don't have medigap??? I am renting it from Medicare.

Need advice on how to make a complaint to Medicare about DME

Has anyone made a complaint to Medicare about their DME? How did it go? My DME, (which I liked), did not win the competitive bid for cpap supplies which went into effect last July 1. I went on this forum and the internet and picked out a new one. Right from the getgo I was not very happy. They seeme...

Re: Many CPAPers take drugs to help them sleep

It is unlikely for a drug company to finance a study that may indicate half of the patients it is prescribed for may only need half the dosage. A 25% drop in sales is not a happy scenario, even if it meant all the ladies would no longer be overdosed, less risk to babies, etc. CF, When I saw your re...

Many CPAPers take drugs to help them sleep

This Sunday, 60 Minutes will have a startling exposé about how men and women react differently when taking drugs. Women taking Ambien have 40% more in their system than men. In simulated driving tests, the next morning, men passed and women failed after taking the same dosage. All animals that these...

Re: Advice on DMEs

What on earth are you doing to your masks? Den: I have admired and respected your responses over the years, but I can only get about 3-4 months on my mask, but I had one that lasted 6 months. When a mask is about to get drop-kicked into the next county... it will start leaking around my temples and...

Re: Advice on DMEs

I presently get my supplies through the VA. They contract with a local DME who delivers to my home and checks my machine for proper pressure and compliance. The VA schedule sets a limit of 2 masks with associated tubing, headgear, and filters per year. I put an average of 1600 hours on a mask in 6 ...

Re: Not getting back to sleep after bathroom break

Old Dude, Get about a 40 oz. wide mouth plastic jar and wash it out. Place it on you night table. When you feel the urge, roll over on your side facing your night table. Reach over and grab the jar. Put your little wonker in and empty your bladder. Carefully place the jar back on your night table. R...

Re: Best Medicare CPAP supplier?

CPAP CARE CLUB, LLC is mentioned on this forum. If you search for Care Club, you'll find the threads. I haven't purchased from them, but I have had favorable conversations with them on the phone in case I needed a backup to my closer Medicare DME, who so far is doing ok. If I'm not mistaken, the co...

Best Medicare CPAP supplier?

Hi Folks, I went to the web site that Chunky Frog gave me, typed in my zip and got the 33 companies below. I have a script for a ResMed S-9 Autoset CPAP machine. I've heard a lot of negative comments about Apria but it's the only one within an acceptable driving distance that I can conveniently visi...

Who has the Medicare contract for CPAP items?

Hi Folks, After July 1, 2013, the company that was supplying me with CPAP supplies paid by Medicare no longer can do it because they lost the competitive bid. How do I find out who can now handle this for Medicare? My zip code is 11952. A company called American Home Patient called me yesterday and ...
