What type of xPAP do you use?

Postby stickman on Mon Nov 02, 2009 1:45 pm

I am really curious what other people use as their primary therapy. If you use something not referenced please put it in a note :)

FYI- I am a new CPAP user (for now) but I am interested in something that give less 'pushback'. Just curious about everyones' experience with finding the right 'pap' for them. Cheers ;-)

I swap pretty much equally between APAP and BiPAP, depending on which one I've loaned to someone else.
Auto/A-Flex - BiPAP Auto - 420E auto - Everest 2. EncoreViewer & SL3.
Humidifier: F&P HC 150, Aussie heated hose.
Mask: Aeiomed HeadRest/homemade straps.

I just started this August on CPAP of 11cm on a RemStar Auto M with A-flex, and am just getting my masks down to what is better for me. I just recieved my card reader in the post and will see what my reports actually says instead of the summary that is just one page that is just like the LCD screen. I will try setting APAP and see if there is worsening than what I have or it is steady or improvement.

Have had my APAP for one year (11/5). Still use the a-flex. Love it! 8)

Not meaning to hijack this thread but i would be uncomfortable loaning my machine to someone else. Its not that i would not consider it helpful, how do you sanitize the machine once you use it on return?

Oh and I'm on APAP, with CPAP i was always getting 1 to 5 events lasting 30 to 45 secs. My APAP takes me down to 0-3 events lasting no more than 12 secs.

I am very confused about the meaning of "APAP + CPAP when I need it.".

I generally use an APAP set as a CPAP and occasionally set it as an APAP to get numbers.

I think I saw it in here that my antique is supposed to be one of the first APAP's. I'm still using the Autoset T Sullivan I got back in the late '90s. Hopefully, it'll outlive me. I've been plugged into it for so long now, I'm not sure I could switch to one of your newfangled blowers.

I usually run in APAP but I do sometimes switch to CPAP or use my backup machine that is a CPAP.

Always use the Intellipap in Auto mode. Np logical reason for me to use it any other way, as it works well.
