which mask to choose

Post by peg » Mon Sep 12, 2005 3:09 pm

Good afternoon,
I have been reading a lot of posts on this forum and I am very impressed by the knowledge and experience of everyone. This is a great place to get information about CPAP and everything that goes along with it. Thanks so much.
Now, I would like some input on mask choice. My DME is letting me try the Swift Nasal pillows and the HC407. I like them both. The 407 is a little quieter. I have asked to try the Mirage Activa also. I need to make a decision sometime soon and would like to hear the good or bad points of these three masks.
Otherwise it will be the old einy, meiny, miney moe thing. (may not be spelled right but it sounds right!)

In answer to your question, rested gal has compiled just such information from these mask users:

The Swift and the Activa are the easiest and the interfaces that have the highest compliance IMHO and you can't go wrong. If I had to choose one for a beginner it would be the Activa. Good luck and let us know which you pick and how it goes. Welcome to the club.
