Re: SoClean and Coronavirus question

Yeah, but what if we injected bleach inside the cell phone?

Can we investigate that?

Re: Allergic to my first APAP

Same hose and mask? You may be able to set the BiPAP to the exact same settings as the APAP. Or try some things like fixed settings on the APAP, Assuming you want to experiment. Change the filter and clean the water tank thoroughly. Swap the water tanks if they're the same model. Me, I find my CPAP ...

Just be sure you're looking at run hours, not used hours. Used hours can be reset.

I"m not too surprised if someone feels high (or awful) when first starting CPAP. Your brain and body adapt to being strangled all night long and release hormones and adjust your chemistry. Sometimes you're out of whack until you adapt to normal breathing again. Don't get too complacent that you're j...

Re: SoClean 2 filter problem, will I die???

Unless you're somehow hooking yourself up to the ozone machine while it's running, I doubt it creates enough ozone to create a serious ozone problem in the room as a whole. Especially short term and if you're not in the room while it's running. Ozone has a pretty short half life indoors. Long term, ...

Re: Cigarette smell in 2nd hand ResMed Airsense 10

My mother used to put a hunk of charcoal in water in the kitchen to eliminate cooking smells. Other times she would put out a small bowl of vinegar to eliminate odours. !!NO!! !!NO!! !!NO!! NOT in the CPAP tank. Regular commercial charcoal has chemicals in it other than charcoal. Some has lighter f...

You could try running the machine outside or at an open window for several hours for a couple days
Outside air vs. inside air won't make much difference in flushing out the smoke smell.

Never forget the standard nurse's answer to questions about using the patient's CPAP.

"He doesn't need CPAP, he's on oxygen."

And the attending physician agrees.

Re: Doctor told me "some people just don't tolerate CPAP"

All true to some extent. "Some people just can't tolerate CPAP." - Some can never adjust. Can't sleep with the mask, can't stop ripping it off in their sleep. "Some people just won't put up with CPAP." - Some give up too quickly. It can be really hard. "Some users need to be told 'Suck it up butterc...

Re: Bought a 2nd-hand CPAP to use until Dr. appt. Can you help me use this properly?

We've got ResScan reports from the AirSense 10 CPAP models showing generic AHI (no categories given) and what is presumably a 95% leak number reported. Someone with the half assed brick was kind enough to verify using ResScan. Let me see if I can find the thread. Looks like nightly average AHI, sor...

Re: Bought a 2nd-hand CPAP to use until Dr. appt. Can you help me use this properly?

Go ahead and give SleepyHead a try. I think you get get a close estimate on AHI and maybe a 95% leak number. No event category breakdown though. That's all that you can get...if you can get that but I think I remember seeing some limited data from the half assed brick AirSense 10 CPAP. I thought th...

I do have other medical issues as well. going to see doctor on tuesday plus get more blood work done.
Good luck. Unfortunately, you have to do a lot to manage your own health care, even without apnea blindness. Doctors tend to have a lot of other blind spots as well.

Re: horrible I don't know. could my bipap be making me feel horrible

the sleep clinic reviewed the sleep data in march 2018. she said all was ok. i do have a hernia Unfortunately, to a sleep clinic or DME, "everything is OK," often means "you're using it enough time every night that I'm still going to get paid." Even if they look a little further, the analysis is of...

Re: SoClean 2: Am I a sucker??

Ozone will kill germs. It will also damage many forms of plastic. Whether a CPAP ozone-based germ killing system can kill germs without damaging equipment is what I question. I'm sure you could kill germs with enough ozone. I'm pretty sure you can damage plastic. The question is can you have enough ...
