Re: Maybe a silly question, but....

To clarify, I do plan to have another sleep study, but after I reach my goal weight. And no plans for bariatric. I was never obese enough to qualify anyway. I never had reflux, but I do have a recessed chin. So maybe I'll still need Cpap, but I'll be skinny! I can live with Cpap, just as I have for ...

Re: Maybe a silly question, but....

Thanks everyone. The weight was going to come off regardless of being able to d/c the CPAP or not. It's not really an issue, but life would be better if I didn't need it. It's the same way when I had glasses, although they bothered me a lot more. Although I had Lasik specifically to get rid of my gl...

Maybe a silly question, but....

I've been on Cpap for over 2 years, only missing when I was sick, which is rare. When I got on Cpap my Dr said I might not need it if I lost weight. I'm now finally motivated and have been losing weight for a few months. I started out at 204 and was 177.6 this morning. I still have a ways to go. I k...

Re: Fell Asleep Without CPAP & Saw A Huge Difference

Not really. I've taken naps, although a LOT fewer than before, without it and woke up feeling decent. My hubby does say that when I nap w/out Cpap, I snore like a lumberjack. I'm only napping for 20-30 minutes. What I do notice is that if something happens and I don't get much sleep, I don't feel to...

Re: My memory is improving!

Prove it! Post your credit card number here without looking at it.

Congrats!

I've always been able to remember long strings of numbers too. Fortunately, I didn't loose that with OSA.

You'll probably loose it again for the first year after your baby is born.

Re: so depressed.. do i really have to wear this??

Wow! You sound just like me except you got into CPAP therapy sooner than I did. I've been married 10 years and went from 140 to 195. I had my first sleep study and diagnosis 4 years ago. I cried all the way home because I believe that I have sleep apnea because I am fat (still do). I blew it off aft...

Re: OT Winter still life

I love White Ranch. My hubby rides his bike and I ride my horse there often. It sure looks different in the winter though.

Thanks. That part is all handled because I'm staying in an apartment that's completely "americanized". Every plug has an adaptor.

1st international travel with CPAP on Thursday

I'm going to Paris on Thursday for 8 days. I'm flying coach class on Air France on the way out, Delta on the way back, so I'm assuming there will be no place to plug in my CPAP machine. I've traveled domestically several times since being on my CPAP machine over a year. I even have a carry-on bag on...

Re: Wii Fit Comments?

I got the Wii Fit Plus and EA Sports Active for Christmas. Since I'm currently unemployed, I figure I can use my time getting fit a loosing weight. I play around on the Fit + to warm up until it tells me that I've burned 80 or so calories. Then I do a medium intensity EA workout for 25-30 minutes. T...

Re: I cured my Sinus infection naturally!

I don't think it's the honey that does much other than make the mix a little more tolerable. I've heard that a capful of vinegar can dull your appetite, thus making you eat less and loose weight. Didn't work for me, but it cured my sinus infection.

I cured my Sinus infection naturally!

I had a bad cold for 8 days with a lot of congestion and coughing. The congestion necessitated the FFM, but the coughing just made it miserable. So, between 12 hour Claritin that lasted 8 hours and blasting my nose with a bulb syringe and salt water, I was able to sleep with my Swift mask. Then....j...

Re: Oink! Oink! It's the H1N1 vaccine for me!

How does having OSA make you a high risk candidate?? Personally, I avoid putting unnecessary chemicals in my body and I see the H1N1 shot as unnecessary. I avoid being around kids if at all possible. Honestly, I see it as a bunch of hype. People die from all kinds of things everyday. It's just that ...

Re: My one year anniversary today!

Congratulations. I'm hitting one year in February (I can't believe it). Sorry to hear that you are celebrating with a cold. Definitely use a neti pot or nasal rinse, it really helps! You don't have to tell me about the Neti pot. I love mine! But I was sooo plugged up that even the Neti couldn't get...
