Best way to get stiffness out of a new hose

Post by LilBuckaroo » Thu Nov 03, 2005 11:31 pm

Hi all,
I got a new hose from my DME. I would like to know the best way to get the stiffness out of it. I can almost tie a knot in my old one, but this one has what appears to be permanent bends in it.

Thanks for all of your help.

Tenpin,

Turn the faucet on HOT! and run water through it until it gets soft... Sounds like this one was sitting coiled up for quite some time.

Be careful not to burn yourself!

Thanks for all of the suggestions regarding my hose. I will try all of them.

My DME has a distribution point that supplies all of their locations, so I wouldn’t be surprised to find out that it had been sitting there for a long time.

Again thanks all.

Wading,

Didn't see a reply under your name. If you suggested running hot water thru it, I did. Don't know how it worked, because I haven't gone to bed yet. Should know something tomorrow. Will try to post the results at that time.

I really have been trying to resist but I can't do it any longer. I'm more concerned about getting stiffness into an old hose .

Now going back to my corner LOL

Mike,

I'm glad to see YOU finally did it.....it's the same thing I've been wanting to say all day, too..... I had to keep slapping my hands to keep from doing it.

Have a good one.

Wow, now this place is going down quickly. I think we all had the same thought. I was tempted to respond as "Just stroke it a lot and it should get loser after reaching its breaking point." But I won't say that.
