Re: Product Challenge Results: A New Gel CPAP Mask Champ
This pretty well mirrors my experience with both of these masks. I find the seal of the SoftGel to be more comfortable BUT, I have to wake up once every night to wipe off my face. This restores the seal. I don't have this problem with the ComfortGel. Both masks are pretty quiet with the SoftGel bein...

Re: So I put my apap on my husband last night.....
Whenever I've had great numbers but felt like a wreck in the morning, it's usually been related to congestion and humidity. For me, it's a cue that I need to raise the humidity. For others, it can be the opposite.

Re: ComfortGel Leaks, Help?
Wil,
You may want to consider trying the REmzzzs liners (you can order a sample pack at little cost) or wait for the liner that Karen at Padacheek is developing.

Re: Anyone try to make their own homemade Remzzzs?
I couldn't get a good seal with the Remmzzzs material. In addition, it didn't do much to help with the irritation at the bridge of my nose. The material in the Padacheek nose bridge protector seems to work better for me in terms of seal and alleviating skin irritation.

Re: Call For Enrollment: ComfortGel vs SoftGel Product Challenge
Johnny, What if I've already used both extensively? Can I provide some feedback? We are really looking for people who have used the ComfortGel but NOT the SoftGel. Feel free to register but I suspect your autoscore in that case would be pretty low. Johnny My autoscore would be low?!?!? I'm not sure...

Re: tips for getting rid of red mark on nose bridge
It depends on what it looks like. If it's inflamed and raised, I will ice it first. I find that this does a lot of good, particularly if I do it before my shower. With skin irritation, I will cover the area with lanolin and apply a band aid after getting out of the shower. I remove the band aid when...

Re: how do you know when you are cpap intolerant?
Elena. One of the main reasons people fail at this is because of their attitude. Going into therapy telling yourself that this will help you live a better life and that with practice it will seem second nature to you. Getting used to the air pressure can be done by wearing the mask with the machine...

Re: Need help - 2 years with CPAP and unable to sleep
4) Working at reducing your reactivity to stimuli (noises/sensations) Do you have a recommendation for how she could do that? I can't imagine, but I'd be the first to line up for that treatment. It depends on the nature of the sensitivity. One could be a light sleeper out of hyper vigilance. Where ...

Re: Need help - 2 years with CPAP and unable to sleep
There are several things you can try: 1) The PapCap as previously suggested. 2) A hybrid mask such as the Liberty or Hybrid (see cpap.com) 3) A different nasal pillows mask such as the new Swift FX and tape that it comfortable. 4) Working at reducing your reactivity to stimuli (noises/sensations) Go...

Re: 1st Post, 1st Night on CPAP
1) Sounds like you got the all too typical shaft from the DME. If it were me, I would consider raising a stink about the machine. 2) Data is important in order to fine tune your therapy. Your machine is like a glucose meter that only verifies that you've drawn blood. 3) A bit of condensation is not ...

I have snored when there's not enough humidity. If that's what it is for you, a sinus rinse before bed may help. Or you could turn up the humidity.

Spirit,
Have you tried using the Remzzzs liners? That may help with the issue of moisture.
