Re: In the depths of relapse
Would love to say that I was checking in with good news but it's not the case. I was woken up this morning at 3:45 in the midst of an apnea episode. I'm gonna be ordering a new mask today. I hope the cpap.com staff are ready for a lengthy conversation!

Re: Anyone glad they were diagnosed?
I didn't have much of an emotional reaction to it. Working in a medical facility and knowing the symptoms, it was confirmation of what I already knew. What was frustrating was that it took such a long time get through the process.

Re: mirage liberty mask
EriC, This is most basic of suggestions. My machine has different settings in the menu for different masks. I have mine set on "Swift" but there are others such as "Mirage". If I use a nasal pillow on the Mirage setting, it will blow much harder. I don't know if your machine has different settings l...

Re: Wondering how many use their ramp????
The first night, I had it set to 20 minutes. Second night was 10, the third night and ever since, it's a 5 minute ramp. Feels comfortable to me.

Re: Taping question/Skincare regimen for women of the mask?
Burping: As a guy, I recall learning how to burp with my mouth closed and exhaling it through my nose. "Don't burp with your mouth open!" or so my mother would say. This is most easily practiced with some soda. If you get good, you will be able to yawn that way as well. My machine has a setting for ...

Re: Solving mouth leaks and other issues
I have a roll of 3M Transpore tape and tried that last night instead of the blue painters tape. I have to say, it work so much better for me. It sealed better, was more comfortable, and gave me immediate feedback the one time when my tongue fell back. That might be a good option for you.

Re: Nipple Grease...
Would the nipple grease work around the bridge of the nose to help create a seal with a nasal mask? Otherwise, I've also read of people using a piece of moleskin (or some other cloth "buffer" between the mask seal and the face), which also seems to be effective. HTH I tried using some transpore wit...

Re: In the depths of relapse
A bit of an update. I had a better night with the Swift LT. I set it to be tighter than I have in the past and used the Lanolin. I rarely felt the need to puff out air and when I did, I lightly pressed my nose into the nasal pillows and the feeling went away. I feel pretty good this morning and want...

Re: In the depths of relapse
Thanks for all of the responses. I've used a chinstrap (respironics) and I've taped. Neither achieves that "closed circuit" and I still feel the air wanting to come out of my mouth. I've been considering a full face but am resistant due to the potential for skin irritation to the bridge area of my n...

In the depths of relapse
Hey Folks, First post though I've been lurking for a while. I need some advice about where to go from here. I did my sleep studies in Oct. and Nov. of last year and got my machine in mid-December. I have a Resmed S8 Elite II with a 3i humidifier. I started with a ComfortGel nasal mask. No matter how...
