Flonase & BP

Post by merlin » Thu Sep 08, 2005 1:02 pm

Flonase doesn't interfere with my BP. My doc has me on meds for high BP and gives me Flonase as well. Flonase is a nasal steroid and really shouldn't interfere with BP. OTC meds have pseudoephedrine (sp?) and that is what will cause BP to rise. One OTC med is available (and I can't remember its name) and the main ingredient is Guaifenesin. My doc told me this won't raise BP either.

Merlin,
I don't know if you meant to start two new threads when you replied to this and the thread about getting retitrated if you gain or lose 20 lbs. My hunch is you meant to reply, rather than start a whole new thread. I was the one interested in knowing if Flonase had any effect on BP and it was in another post.

If you didn't mean to start a new thread, when you want to reply to someone's post, go to the bottom of the post and click on "Post Reply," not at the top where you see "New Topic." New Topic starts a totally new thread on something you want to bring up that wasn't as a result of a prior message you read, if you follow my fumbling way of explaining it.

This was my guess, that you accidentally started new threads by mistake. If not, my bad...sorry. Thanks for the info, though, on the Flonase. Good to know it isn't interfering with my hypertension management.
