Re: A few newbie questions - with Data!
You've got ramp set up on 6 - and there's a lot of snoring going on when you're there. It's too low for you. Look a the zigzag pattern of the flow: your apneas, flow limitation and snores pop up once the pressure has dropped. In other words, the machine doesn't realize that the minimal pressure is t...

Re: What makes a machine say CA (central apnea / clear airway)?
So yes, being healthy is the objective . And because all my health issues are chronic rather than acute, the only way to try to deal with them is to try to understand what's going on, and make the appropriate adjustments to my lifestyle, medication, and CPAP use. That sounds like what you should do...

Re: What makes a machine say CA (central apnea / clear airway)?
Frequency Oscillation Technology - that's what the machine uses to recognize open vs. closed airway.

Re: Minimal Improvement After Years on CPAP, Need Help
My understanding is that sleep disordered breathing is more complex than just AHI (let me know if this is wrong), You're absolutely right. Look at how frequently your pressure is going up an down. Look at the flow limitations. Look at the leaks. ResMed machines are quick to respond to flow limitati...

What version are you using? Good point. New machines need newer OSCAR versions. Re: Resmed AirSense 10 AutoSet - Is automatic setup better than fixed pressure?
Everyone has the right to their opinion and you are hearing a different opinion. And everyone has an obligation to find out what's best for them. Listen to the different opinions, experiment, track your results log how you feel, and go by the info you have about yourself. You wouldn't set an insuli...

Re: People who say they feel like there suffocating at low cpap pressure
When a person describes what they're experiencing, there's no need to "explain". The facts you state are correct - a CPAP's pressure is higher than the ambient pressure. The other facts are also correct: for some people, once they start using CPAP a pressure of 7 feels not enough. My guess is that t...

Re: Help please
I also note that your FLs improved when you raised your EPR from 1 to 3, so that pressure differential is helpful to you. When I use this link https://sleephq.com/public/teams/share_links/0446151a-bfe6-47e6-b896-2fbdaf31e052/dashboard and move through the nights I see nightly pressure changes. Not ...

Re: Help please
The single night you posted is at a fixed pressure of 11.2 It shows bouts of flow limitations which might be the reason for your crappy sleep. In order to really understand what's going on, we'd have to see more examples of your nightly results, and how long you stayed at each pressure. Based on thi...

Re: Help with definition of Median Pressure Oscar
The median seems to be the best starting point, but I was curious as to what two values it is using. I :?: A median using 2 values? A median describe sa distribution. The percentiles reported by ResMed (and thus OSCAR) indicate the percentage of time you spent below or at that pressure. When you se...

Re: Help with definition of Median Pressure Oscar
The number reported by ResMed (Oscar) as the median pressure is simply the pressure at or below which you spent half the time.
A median is not an average.
