New Machine Recommendation

I am looking to purchase a new CPAP machine (not Respironics) rather than wait for Respironics to replace my current Dream Station. I wear a Full Face mask.

Any recommendations? Thanks in advance.

Just found out about the Phillips recall

I just found out about the Phillips recall, and I have one of the affected machines. I wasn’t notified by my sleep doctor or the DME I actually found out from my sister who happened to read it. I don’t use any ozone cleaners but I’m wondering if I should stop using my CPAP until I get an OK from the...

Re: CPAP not providing adequate therapy - Next Step?

Because I want to do the best I can for myself right now because I don’t get into see the doctor until next month and then if he schedules another sleep study that will be another month, assuming insurance approves a third study, and then the follow up appt. with him will be another month so now we ...

Re: CPAP not providing adequate therapy - Next Step?

It’s good to know about the machines inability to change pressure expeditiously during events. I have no problem starting with a higher pressure, however I haven’t been successful doing this. I don’t have a problem with high pressure - I could start at 20 and have it at 20 constantly if that worked ...

Re: CPAP not providing adequate therapy - Next Step?

What limitations? I have use the machine daily for approximately 200 days. That’s not enough of a trial? I started a minimum of 12 with a maximum of 20 and it made no difference. I continue to have a string of apnea with pressure at 20. I sleep alone so I can only make assumptions about my position....

Re: BiPAP - Good AHI but feeling tired

Hi, just wondering why you went from CPAP to BiPap. I am currently on CPAP and not getting good treatment. My sleep doctor mentioned a while ago about the possibility of me moving up to BiPap. I’m sure I would have to have another sleep study, which would be my third, to see if BiPAP would be effect...

Re: CPAP not providing adequate therapy - Next Step?

Baseline is 30 AHI, much worse on my back. So yes, I am getting partial treatment, but not enough to stop me from having an enlarged heart, which the cardiologist says is the result of untreated sleep apnea. Suffice it to say a pressure of 15, or even 20 is not high enough. Last time I posted a char...

CPAP not providing adequate therapy - Next Step?

I have tried several different pressure combinations. None of them seem to be working. I am still scoring between 16 and 20 AHI every night. I am wearing a device that helps me stay on my side but I am still scoring highly. Would a BiPAP be helpful? I go back to sleep doctor in about a month. Thanks...

Significant improvement with use of soft cervical collar

Thank you Jas_williams for your suggestion about the cervical collar. only one night of data but BIG improvement with the cervical collar - so far. Lowest night of AHI since I started in January and first night under 5.0. had some major leaking last night but know I can correct that. Still have a wa...

Re: A lot of sweating, 55 male, have to change shirts

I'm 62 and have had a lot of night sweats as well, but they seem to be improving on CPAP. Was almost every night and is now only about once every two weeks.

Re: Need tips to stay sleeping on side

Thanks for the suggestion I am going to try it. I don’t think simple increases in minimum and maximum pressure are going to do the job. I’ve already tried that and my numbers actually went up. I found this article which I believe describes my situation and why increasing the pressure will not do the...
