I'm a couple of months into this and trying different things. Klockemy (huge thanks again!) sent me a Respironics chinstrap a few weeks ago. I tried in 7 nights ago. Prior to that I was usually in the low 3-4 AHI range. With the strap on I rattled off 6 nights in the low 2-3 range, with a few clusters of OA's later in the night.
Last night I got a 5.5 AHI with OA's spread through the night. I don't feel any more tired than the previous night and nothing else in my routine changed. Do you sometimes just blow off a bad night's results when there is no explanation?
Do you sometimes just have a bad night?

Re: Do you sometimes just have a bad night?
Yes, absolutely. There are just so many variables. Even healthy people without sleep disorders have bad sleeping nights. We are no different.
DeVilbiss IntelliPap Std Plus with Smartflex; Transcend miniCPAP & Everest2 w/humidifier & batt for travel. UltraMirage FFM; PadACheeks; PaPillow. Using straight CPAP at 13.0/passover humidifier. AHI consistently < 1.5. Began CPAP 9/4/08.
Re: Do you sometimes just have a bad night?
I've been on cpap for almost 7 years now. I still have some bad nights once in a while. Most of the time it has nothing to do with cpap.
I think everyone, whether dealing with sleep apnea or not, have bad nights. There can be any number of reasons.
Just last night, I woke on the middle of the night, made a trip to the bathroom and it took almost an hour to get back to sleep. I had my mask on and machine running. My mind just got going and wouldn't stop. I was thinking about getting up and doing something until I could get to sleep again but I fell back to sleep before I did that.
This morning, when I looked at my data on the computer, I saw the break when I was up and almost an hour afterwards with a lot of events.
It doesn't happen to me very often but once in a while I have a night like that. I had them before the sleep apnea diagnosis too but more often then.
