RemZzzs

Post by atomickitty3000 » Wed Jun 24, 2009 10:08 am

Has anyone tried RemZzzs mask liners? http://www.remzzzs.com/ Do they work? I am having a problem with leaks at the moment, I think due to increased humidity cause it's summer and I thought these might help.

There have been several discussions regarding this product. Some liked it, some ended up making their own. I did a search and came up with these links:

I actually bought the RemZzzs to use with my Fisher &Paykel 431 full face mask. I have that mask as a backup for when congestion might be too bad for my nasal pillows. So far that hasn't happened but I tried that mask with the RemZzzs one night so I wouldn't have to figure it out when I'm feeling rotten.

It was quite comfortable and left no face marks at all. The leaking was very minimal, if at all. I don't like full face masks but if I need one once in a while, it will be with RemZzzs.

I could not stand them, they tickled my face and they are very fiddly to put on.
I tried them with a Quattro FF

I purchased their sample package for three of my masks and tried them on all three. They were comfortable and, when fitted right, kept the air leaking from the mask from bothering my eyes. They didn't lower my leak rate. They also didn't seem to raise it (I compared a week's worth of RemZzzs use with a week w/o the RemZzzs). After using them every night for two+ weeks, I stopped. I only used them once in the past month after going to bed and fighting leaks into my eyes. I finally, in frustration, put on a RemZzzs and no longer noticed the leakage into my eyes.

I stopped using them every night or even frequently for three reasons: 1) it was time consuming to put them back on during the middle of the night after I took my mask off and made a bathroom visit (and often required that I turn on the bathroom light, thereby waking me up more than I wanted), 2) they sometimes tickled my face once I was in bed and I had to get up, remove the mask, and reapply them, and 3) after a single night's use and washing, it was time consuming to iron them so I could reuse them - I didn't want to buy one and toss it after using it for only one night.

I like them. I do find they're a little fiddly to put on, but I'm fiddling with so much stuff at bedtime that it doesn't seem like a big deal. When they tickle my face, I just tug on the edges to slightly readjust them. Also, I use the same one 2-3 days in a row with no problem. They are very helpful in this hot weather, when the extra moisture on my face tends to make my mask slide around. I don't get up much at night now that I'm on CPAP, but if you do, that would definitely be a drawback; they are very thin and there's no way to put one on by touch, so if you take off the mask, you would have to either leave the Remzzz off or really wake up to realign it.

Why do you take off your mask when you need to get up for a moment?
