E = Exhalation Puff Index - the machine believes you have inhaled through the interface but then exhaled (even partially) through your mouth.
L = large leak (above a certain threshhold I think... I'll have to look this one up again to get exact wording)
M = non-responsive .... now I've heard a couple of accounts explaining this and one of them was that if teh machine responds to hypopneas and pressure gets to a certain (higher) level, and you experience an apnea event, the machine makes some determination that this apnea is central in nature and doesn't respond. I have no official data to back that up. I'll look into this one further as well and maybe get an exact explanation from Devilbiss.
