Re: C-Pap use during a severe cold

I don't see how you could not use it. I have found that I have not always used the humidifier(most of the time), but I always do when I have a cold. The only thing that I would suggest is to wash the mask every morning with soap and water.

I too am a long time "user" of a CPAP.

Re: how often should you have sleep study?

Sam, since it has been 12 years since your first and only in-lab sleep study it might not be that bad an idea to have another. There may be another sleep disorder that has developed in addition to your OSA. Of course, if YOU have to pay a good portion of the sleep study cost out of pocket ..... yea...

Re: how often should you have sleep study?

It's been 12 years since my one and only sleep study. For the past 8 months, I have not been sleeping well. I wasn't sure if my CPAP was functioning properly as I would wake not breathing. I just received an APAP machine on 1-8-09. Slept great on the first night. Slept well last night. The LCD pres...

Re: How much should a DME tech know?

Thanks for all of the responses. I will admit that I had little to no knowledge regarding CPAP, APAP, or BiPAP devices. Even though I have been using a CPAP device for at least twelve years. As long as it seemed to work, why should I complain. I know that I have not taken a proactive role in my ther...

What's the difference? Note: I have a H4i.

Re: A question

What information is recorded by my c-pap machine while I sleep? Just wondered. It depends on the clinical settings. I received my APAP two days ago. The first night session only recorded hours used. I had to go into the clinical settings in order to get it to record mask leakage, AHI etc. Look thro...

Re: How much should a DME tech know?

+1 SnoozeButton Reading your post reminded me that I also asked about a FF mask. He picked up a mask off the shelf and said that it was good. I asked him what model, he didn't know. Should have, would have been an indication that I should have asked for a different tech. I guess that I raised this q...

How much should a DME tech know?

Just picked up my Resmed Autoset II today. I had to drive almost 30 miles to the DME. The tech started with, "I don't know anything about this machine." He proceded to show me how to turn it on and how to adjust the humidifier heat. He didn't even show me how the humidifier attaches to the machine (...

Re: sinus infection, bronchitis, and cpap

The CPAP therapy has virtually eliminated bronchitis from my life. I used to get bronchitis twice a year, without fail. I started using a CPAP at least 12 years ago and have only had one instance of bronchitis in that time. This was a fantastic side effect.

Re: Resmed S8 Elite vs Respironics M Series RemStar Pro

Anything s probably more sophisticated then my current CPAP. Since I have yet to accept delivery of the machine, I will talk to the tech about whether or not the S8 Vantage will meet my needs.

Sorry about hijacking this thread.
