I don't see how you could not use it. I have found that I have not always used the humidifier(most of the time), but I always do when I have a cold. The only thing that I would suggest is to wash the mask every morning with soap and water.
I too am a long time "user" of a CPAP.

Sam, since it has been 12 years since your first and only in-lab sleep study it might not be that bad an idea to have another. There may be another sleep disorder that has developed in addition to your OSA. Of course, if YOU have to pay a good portion of the sleep study cost out of pocket ..... yea...

The CPAP therapy has virtually eliminated bronchitis from my life. I used to get bronchitis twice a year, without fail. I started using a CPAP at least 12 years ago and have only had one instance of bronchitis in that time. This was a fantastic side effect.

Anything s probably more sophisticated then my current CPAP. Since I have yet to accept delivery of the machine, I will talk to the tech about whether or not the S8 Vantage will meet my needs.
