Tooth damage on CPAP

A week after getting my CPAP machine and struggling to get used to my Swift LT nasal pillow mask I noticed the pain under my nose was getting worse. Saturday a chunk of a top front tooth broke off causing tooth ache and an emergency visit to the dentist showed I had a split up the tooth causing an a...

Re: first night w/Mirage Swift nose hurts

I am 2 weeks into using the swift lt nasal pillows and I can go about 7 hours now before the pressure on my nose is waking me up. If I have the mask loose with a comfortable pressure I get a good seal until I move the mask when I lay on my side and once I break the seal I have to take the mask off a...

Re: Congestive Heart Failure and xPap Therapy

My Dad died a couple of years ago from end stage heart failure after surviving a heart attack just after he retired. Knowing what I know now I am sure he was a sleep apnea sufferer with all the classic signs later in his life. I so wish I could turn back time and even if CPAP could'nt prevent his he...

Re: Yahoo at last I got my machine

Thanks for the support folks. Not easy getting used to CPAP is it Nose was clear, I kept my mouth shut, did'nt fight the breathing or panic like in the titration study but I just could'nt get on with the Nasal Pillows. The slightest movement and I had roaring leaks. Humidity was fine but the pressur...

Re: First night on CPAP

Thanks to all of you who replied. I hope no one will be offended if I send a group reply. I can just imagine the mess if you tried to drink water on a CPAP. he he. Might have to try that some time I am still trying to understand some of the terminology and what a normal value is. Will go back to the...

First night on CPAP

Finally got to see the doctor on Tuesday to go over my sleep study results and found I had an Apnea Index of 113, total 680 obstructive apneas and 613 desaturations and 14 percent of sleeptime spent below 88 percent oxygen going as low as 78 percent during the sleep study. It was probably my fault c...

Another Sleepless Newbie

Hi All Had my sleep study a couple of weeks ago and finally got the call today confirming I have sleep Apnea. Have to set up another appointment tomorrow so I guess I am a while away yet from getting a good nights sleep. I knew nothing about sleep apnea until I had a first physical in 20 years so fi...
