Re: OT: Fitness Gadget from Phillips

Plus $12.50 per month with a one month cancellation notice required. A very pricey pedometer. But if it gets one motivated, I suppose it can be worth it. I've been using the Wii Fit product. The thing is doing some good for me. It tracks your weight, a calculated BMI and logs your use. My wife stopp...

OT: If the FDA regulated automobiles

If automobiles were regulated like CPAP: -You would need your doctor to send you to a transportion lab to see if you really need a car. -The transportation lab would hook you up to a bunch of electronic monitors and make you run around in circles. -If you started to slow down or take breaks, they mi...

Re: Poll: Data vs Dumb xPAP

I would check my data daily in the morning for about the first six months. Now I check it every couple of days or so but at night. I was concerned that I was letting the numbers tell me how I felt.

Re: Rested Gal Hits 10,000 Posts!

Let me add 10,000 Thanks for what you have done for me and so many others.
You set the bar so very high when it comes to helping others!

And you wisely stepped aside during those OT rants.

Re: Sleep Labs Going to the Dogs

Well, As Michael Vick said, "I don't have a dog in this fight." The points for and against having dogs present are both valid. It underscores the point that home-based sleep studies should be considered in many cases. I do not intend to schedule a study at the same time and place that Timbalion has ...

Re: Woke up without my mask on. What gives?

I've been on CPAP for over a year now. In the beginning, it happened a few times. Every once in a while, it has happened again. Now it seems to be related to congestion. There many ideas posted on this forum including suggestions for hose management and special pillows. Go at it slowly as there is n...

Urine tests help identify sleep apnea in children

http://www.wgntv.com/news/wgntv-sleepapnea-dec09,0,4959928.story Interesting. Too bad that I am too old for this - sounds a heckofan easier way to go than a sleep study. Not sure that I would be thrilled with the titration But seriously, I am constantly amazed at how many biological systems are aff...

You know that Verizon commercial where the person has a big crew of network engineers behind him? Well visualize the entire CPAPTALK membership standing behind you. You do.

Re: On creating a new dominant story

When I awoke the morning after the sleep study, I was momentarily devistated. I really thought that the OSA of which I had been diagnosed some fourteen years earlier was the reason for my year-long drift into a constant dizzying fatigue. Yeah sure, I had tried the CPAP and gave it up. It leaked, it ...

Re: Canadian relatives and friends: I am worried about you

I have been trying to resist joining in on this discussion - I posted a somewhat snide remark on another similar thread to which Rooster gave a thoughtful reply and I didn't have the time or energy to get into it with him. I sincerely doubt that any of us will be successful in changing any minds her...
