FOSQ??

Post by Sleepy Boy » Wed Apr 22, 2009 1:49 pm

I just seen FOSQ on my machine. Can someone tell me what that means? Also, thinking of trying the Resp. Comfort Gel FFM. I like the Quattro, but I can't get it to quit leaking, and I have to wear my dentures to bed or it's worse. Any help with this decision?
Thanks, Larry..

This came up when I goggled FOSQ. Don't know if it is what you are looking for.

Functional Outcomes of Sleep Questionnaire
Name of Questionnaire

Description
A condition-specific functional status measure designed to evaluate the impact of disorders of excessive sleepiness (DOES) on activities of daily living.

I don't know why I didn't think to do that. Whatever it is, it says 1/30 2/30 3/30etc. I don't know if thats like the date? Or something else? Thanks, maybe I'll Google..

FOSQ is a standard questionnaire sleep docs/clinics give you periodically to see how much your condition is affecting your life. It. of course, is very subjective. But it is ONE way to measure your treatment effectiveness. There are 30 "questions" (areas) they use for evaluation. The "1/30" no doubt refers to your score (2 out of 30, etc). The whole thing is probably detailed in your CPAP machine instruction booklet...or at least somewhere in the documentation. I know it was in with my M-series Auto.

The OSA patient died quietly in his sleep.
Unlike his passengers who died screaming as the car went over the cliff...

I'm a respiratory therapist doing some research for a presentation on sleep apnea and I came across your post. FOSQ does stand for "Functional Outcomes of Sleep Questionaire". The numbers referred to correlate to the questions on the test. Example 1/30 means question #1 of 30 total questions. The test is completed in your CPAP unit (only if a smart card is inserted) and the results can be calculated by your respiratory therapist with homecare company. The test measures your quality of life in regards to your sleep. Good luck and I hope you all are doing well with your therapy.
