Great Advice

Post by moucy » Fri Apr 17, 2009 12:27 pm

Newbie here. Actually have been looking through this site since last January, this is when I got my CPAP machine. Just want to say that all your comments and information were of great help. I would have thrown my machine through the window if it wasn't for the info I got on this site. Still having trouble getting used to this way of life, but getting there.

Bonjour Moucy! I've got a Nasal Aire II Test Drive making the rounds in Canada. You can read more about that in the links in my signature block.

If you're interested, PM me. It's coming to the end of the list.

Glad you found us!!!!

Hey Moucy!! WELCOME! You've come to the right place I can promise you that. I am new here also, in fact, I have only had my machine 2 weeks I'm happy to meet a kindred newbie to compare notes with. The people here in this forum have been the greatest source of information and support. Personally I don't know what what I would have done had I not stumbled upon this amazing group of people. With the issues that I have had with the doctor and DME it's quite possible I might have given up, or caved in to treatment that was not working for me had it not been for the help I received here! It's actually very empowering... the knowledge you can gain here gives you the power and confidence to take control of your treatment and your health... and of course everything has a touch of humor so it's always interesting!

Anyway. like I said, I'm new here too... but if I can be of any help to you just let me know. Often the 'getting adjusted phase' can be tricky but here you'll never stumble or fall because someone is always here to set you straight again.

OMG this sounds like a Halmark Card but it's TRUE!!

By the way... that is an AWESOME AVATAR!!

Hey Moucy -

Welcome! I'm a newby as well - almost 5 months on the hose. Isn't this forum great?

Besides all the great info and help here, I keep coming back because of the "community"-ness of it. If I'm having a good CPAP day, I can share that, or just help some others, or if I'm having a bad day, I can get help, or just read the posts and get recharged to try again / try to change something / not give up.

Welcome aboard I to have found the site a great comfort. We are not alone and just checking in from time to time helps me stay in control of my own therapy in a way I would not have if my DME or Doc was my only source of info. This site rocks.

Bienvenue Moucy -

I am new here and have been hosed up for a week so far. This forum has given me answers to question I didn't even know to ask. Read everything, ask anything, and have fun with it. CPAP can be challenging even when it goes well.

Welcome.

You're experiencing just what I did. Isn't it great. You now have thousands of friends out there who'll be there to help, cajole and support you when you need it. And it's cheaper than doctors, sleep clinics and DME's. Probably more effective too!

Well thanks for everyones support. I didn't think I would get so many replies. Feels great to see that others care so much and take the time to expess it. Just wanted to let you know I had a bad night came down with a cold stuufed nose, but happy I got a full face mask as per others advice on the site, I was still able to sleep somewhat. Just want to share one of my experiences with you. Woke up about two weeks ago, very bad headache, but felt no pressure on my face or head, when I finally decide to open my eyes and take my nose mask off, nothing ! I wasn't wearing my mask. Started looking around, my machine is there, the hose is attached but no mask. Couldn't beleive where I found it, it was in the garbage pail at the end of the room. Must have gotten up and removed it but I don't recall getting up . Maybe I am starting to sleepwalk, never done that before. Well I guess I should make sure the doors are locked because I might find it in my car next time. Ha! Ha!.
