Pondering Purchase of ResScan 3.7

Post by KengEsq » Thu Jan 29, 2009 10:55 am

I have learned much about ResMed's ResScan Software Version 3.7 during the past two days even seeing the reports provided. I have also read the posts here regarding the usefulness of the Software and am nearing being convinced it would be a wise purchase to acquire the Software and Card Reader even if it is a bit expensive (less so, I guess, if I purchase it from Austrailia but then again, I guess I don't know if the reports are in "Austrailian" or "English" - just kidding).

I have been unable to find out the answer to one important question I have. I have this unanswered question because I do not want to interfere with having the reports provided by my RT to my sleep doctor.

Important Question: If I use the card reader and software on a regular basis to monitor my own therapy, does the data retrieved from reading the card reamin in my ResMed S8 AutoSet II machine so that I can still download all of the stored data (even the data I have previously downloaded, read and used) so that my RT can download all of my data and provide the reports to my sleep doctor?

Yes, the data remains in the AutoSet II Machine memory when you download onto the data card to load into the software for vieweing data. I vote to have it.........It's a major reinforcement to hug your machine and use it..........!! elg5cats

The summary data for the 360 most recent days of use is retained in your S8 AutoSet II flow generator

The detailed data for the 5 most recent days of use is retained in in your S8 AutoSet II flow generator

The ResScan card allows the ResScan software to access the summary data for the 180 most recent days of use and the detailed data for the 5 most recent days of use.

A direct wired USB connection allows the ResScan software to access the summary data for the 360 most recent days of use and the detailed data for the 5 most recent days of use.

So basically your RT will be able to see a lot of summary data but only very recent detailed data.

Cheers,

Bill

Thanks all for answering my burning question about the data remaining in my AutoSet II even if I download it to a data card and use that data to generate the reports using the ResScan software. I moves me closer to my ultimate decision whether to but the card reader and software. I would use the softeware at my office so using the card works best for me since I do not want to have to drag my computer home or my APAP to my office to directly connect them by cable.

Thanks again for all that good information.
