Travel surge protector?

Can anyone recommend a good travel surger protector? I have a big ol' protector at home, but probably need something small/light for travel.

I got a small one in WalMart for $21.00. It is made by Phillips. I found it in the electronics section. It has space for 3 plugs and 2 usb (?) connections. Hope this helps.

I got a little Belkin brand surge protector that's sold for notebooks. Not alot of "joules" but what's really slick about it is that it has a plug that rotates 360 degrees, and then three outlets, and 2 USB outlets, so I can charge all my electronics, as well as plug stuff in at weird awkward angles, which inevitably occur when you're travelling.

What I'm seeking is an extension cord on a small reel that retracts. I suppose it would probably be heavier and bulkier than just winding the cord up and securing it with a Velcro cord minder. But I can dream, can't I?

I just love retractable cords.... I found a Rowenta iron with a retractable cord at Fry's and went into ecstasies over it. The BF promised he'd buy it for me for our 1 year anniversary.

In addition to this, I got the a cheap multioutlet strip, with the longest cord on it that I could find.... this one: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00006HQR8

I also had one of these along: http://www.amazon.com/Kensington-K38032 ... B00197UGRK -- though I had it plugged into the multioutlet strip and was using it mainly to charge a couple of USB powered devices.

No surge protection for my laptop though....

I wonder if they make travel UPSs....

You didn't say where you were traveling to. All the suggestions so far given are fine for US travel. But if traveling to a different country, make sure that you get one designed for the line voltage in use where you are going. The power supply in most machines will automatically adjust to most any line voltage you are likely to run into. Surge suppressors will not. To be effective, they have to be rated for the line voltage in use. A 110V surge suppressor used on 220 volts may fail spectacularly. A 220 volt surge suppressor used on 110 v will lot a lot of junk through.

Yes, it plugs in to the "wall" socket and "mounts" there. (As opposed to being on the business end of an extension cord.)
