Re: OUCH! need tape help

i do not have to tape thankfully as i know that i have skin that is sensitive to tape and just the sort of damage you describe- i know some of the tapers here use a variety of non medical type tapes but i would be very cautious unless you have tested your skin and know it can take it- simply because...

Re: menoapuse and apnea (lucky me lucky me)

I agree with the others who have suggested that you get the menopause hot flushes reviewed by your Doctor- a vist to your OB GYN is really worth while- there are lots of different medication options and they are usually only required short term until the hormone levels even out- a quick blood test c...

Re: Could this be!

i agree that orthostatic hypotension tends to be a symptom of other issues rather than a health condition in its own right so to speak- you mention the fact that your doctor queried the possibility of MS, i have MS and while i certainly hope that you do not have to deal with this awful condition, if...

Re: Here is my first post and ALL MY PROBLEMS!

nice to meet you too, I love my machine, i used to wake in the morning with a headache that made me feel i had been kicked in the forehead by a mule! i put up with that for years because i did not recognize it as a symptom of sleep apnea! My attitude would probably have been the same as yours when i...

Re: OT.. Swine Flu, are you taking any precautions?

Just washing hands a lot more than usual and carrying around a bottle of hand sanitizer, i always have a small bottle in my bag- i found that when i became wheelchair dependant i seemed to pick up more illnesses such as gastroenteritis, colds etc. and at first i thought it was because of a health de...

Re: OT-SWINE FLU-How serious is the global threat?

i work in an organisation that is considered a front line organisation when it comes to disasters or major health concerns and while there is concern that is all that it is at the moment- a lot of reinforcing good hygeine practices and what to do if a person starts having flu like symptoms. avoiding...

Re: New Activa LT Mask!

i was using a mirage micro and that was a small size, i was reasonably happy with it but did tend to have to fiddle a bit each night to get it to a position that it would not leak. The resmed machine i use is a bit picky about what masks can be used, the activa lt was one of them so i was interested...

I was talking about this with a friend on recently, i was saying that in a way it is probably just as well that i am single and live alone- I have MS and a couple of other health problems- i can remember seeing a scene in a clint eastwood movie where he was a secret service agent looking after the p...

Re: How to clean/disinfect the humidifier

I think filtering the water is solving the problem of buidling up lime scale deposits but my preference initially was to use distilled water- infact that would still be my preference. As hard as i look though the only brands of distilled water i can find say that they are are not suitable for drinki...

Re: How to clean/disinfect the humidifier

a 1part white vinegar to 10 parts water makes a cleaning solution that is useful at removing lime scale and mineral deposits from in kettles and in humidifiers for those who use tap water. Our tap water is very hard, we tend to get mineral build up around the elements in the kettle very quickly but ...
