How often do you check your sleep data
How often do you check your sleep data
Do you have software and download the data from your machine?

I have ResScan 3.7. I'm a newbie, and obsessed. I check every morning.

I check daily. Been at it for over two years and still trying to correlate the numbers with how I feel during the day and trying to adapt the therapy for optimum performance.

Oops. I voted for "every day" before I read your post, Gerry. I check the display screen on my machine every day (AI, HI, AHI, leak rate), but I do not yet have ResScan software.

Re: How often do you check your sleep data
I've been trying to check mine, but it always says no data found *and I'm in the clinical menu*... am I looking at it too late? Anyone have any suggestions?
ETA- I think I found it... I have to check before noon- can someone confirm? Thanks!

Re: How often do you check your sleep data
I check the data on the screen daily and keep a chart and graph of my AHI data. I don't have software yet.

Re: How often do you check your sleep data
I have ResMed Autoset. I think the daily data disappears on the display screen of the machine after 12 pm. You have to check it before then. Not sure if the same applies to your machine.sleepywolverine wrote:I've been trying to check mine, but it always says no data found *and I'm in the clinical menu*... am I looking at it too late? Re: How often do you check your sleep data
Thank you very much! I haven't ordered my reader yet so the machine's going to have to do until after Christmas. I'll try this right when I wake up tomorrow. Re: How often do you check your sleep data
I've been on therapy for just over two years now, but much of that was without a data-capable machine. Since I bought the APAP (and got the software and reader) in June, I've become a data junkie. I check it every morning.
Veni, vidi, Velcro. I came, I saw, I stuck around.
Dx 11/07: AHI 107, central apnea, Cheyne Stokes respiration, moderate-severe O2 desats. (Simple OSA would be too easy. )
PR S1 ASV 950, DreamWear mask, F&P 150 humidifier, O2 @ 2L.

Re: How often do you check your sleep data
Not having a data capable machine I have to go by how I feel rather than reviewing data.
It would be interesting to see how many people use data capable machine vs a "dumb" machine!
I am a newbie on these forums and I have learned so much by reading and absorbing information provided by long term users.
I can see how easy it is to become a data junkie once you have a data capable unit - and the best part is that even if you only check once a month you are able to monitor yourself.
In the meantime I will just have to go on the basis of how I feel rather than data.

Re: How often do you check your sleep data
Started therapy in Aug '07 with a dumb CPAP (no data) until I got the ResMed AutoSet II in early Nov '09. Gotta order the card reader or USB...maybe Santa will bring me one . I check and log my LED data every morning.

Re: How often do you check your sleep data
I used to check the display daily (even though it's an average) and download every few days. I've migrated to the every 5 days to once a week category, plus if I have an unusual night or have tried something new.

Re: How often do you check your sleep data
I have a ResMed S8 Elite II, which is capable of reporting full data. I check and record my data daily. I made up a table in my word processing program and write down:
• AHI (hourly apnea/hypopnea index)
• AI (hourly apnea index)
• HI (hourly hypopnea index)
• leak rate
• hours of use
• pressure used (mine is a straight CPAP, so I have a set pressure, but it can change from time to time )
• mask model and size used that night (I have several)
• EPR level (none, 1, 2 or 3)
• Inhale setting (fast or medium)
• humidity setting
• whether I used the chin strap or not
• whether I used the oximeter
• sleep notes--such as frequent awakenings, any physical discomfort, predominant sleep position, whether I remember dreaming, any bathroom breaks, etc.
• next day notes--such as blood pressure, energy level, mental clarity, etc.
I just write down whatever I think could be relevant later. All this information may seem like overkill, but it has helped me to understand any trends, what may work best, and assists in troubleshooting problems. Over time, I'm sure I won't be recording this much detail, but it has come in handy on occasion.

Re: How often do you check your sleep data
I received my machine in October 2008. I got the card reader and software in January 2009. I download my data and take a good look at it once a week unless there is a reason to look at it more often. I used my prescribed settings for the first 6 months and then I started making adjustments to optimize my therapy. The data was critical for doing that.
