hose Managemnet

Post by troy20772 » Thu Mar 26, 2009 3:16 pm

I need some advice on how to better manage my hose between my machine & my mask. Here is my situation. My machine sit on the night stand on my wife's side of the bed becuase due to space reasons Our bed is tucker into a corner & I sleep by the wall. My hose currently runs between my wife's pillows & the headboard. Its never been a problem until last night when my wife kept getting hit by it when I moved. Ialso have figure a way to manage it with new baby coming any day. When had our second child was born I wasn't using cpap therapy. Our room is really tight on space with the crib in there. Our room can not be rearranged at all. Thanks for any advice
Thanks

You may want to find a slightly longer hose. Place the hose behind the headboard, supported by large stickon wire clamps, and bring it over where you sleep. Helps to minimize rainout also.

put a shelf up on the wall for the cpa on your side or get a longer hose and a thingy to hold it up on the wall on your side.

Try adding another hose to the one you have. I'm using two hoses connected together, and run under the pillow like you mention.

I like the shelf idea, but...

Arrange some way to hold the machine on the shelf because you don't want that toppling down on you if you happen to yank too much on the hose.

That would be a rude awakening!

I bought a 10' hose, then today when I was at lowes I bought this hook to screw into the wall
and this little pulley then 3' of this real soft wirer then hooked the wirer together, I hope I made sence
out of how I explained myself.

Thank you all for the advice, I'll check into the shelf idea & also the hose extention one too. I failed to mention that the wall that I sleep agnaist is peg board cover by wall paper. I think it will be easy to find the studs.
Thanks

Hi Troy,

Here is a link to a whole page of links on hose management compiled by one of our cpaptalk "veterans", Rested Gal.
viewtopic.php?t=10640

It's well worth the time checking the links out . . . there are not only many different types (that you can buy, improvise, or make yourself).
There are also a lot of photos.

Good luck finding the best system for you!

Joy
